Tom Holland will be donning his attire again, as he takes on the role of a lawyer in the forthcoming Universal Pictures movie adaptation of John Grisham’s book “The Partner.
The movie titled similarly is predicted to be a legal thriller, focusing on a junior partner at a law firm portrayed by Holland, who allegedly steals $90 million USD from a rich client, pretends to die, and escapes to Brazil. Holland will also act as one of the film’s producers, with Graham Moore penning the script. This isn’t the first time Grisham’s novels have been translated into films. Famous for his top-selling legal thrillers, “The Firm,” directed by Sydney Pollack and starring Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman, “The Pelican Brief” with Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington in leading roles, and “A Time To Kill,” directed by Joel Schumacher and featuring Sandra Bullock, Samuel L. Jackson, and Matthew McConaughey, are some examples. Grisham was also involved in the 2004 adaptation of the holiday film “Christmas With the Kranks,” starring Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Currently, we don’t have a definite start date for the project commencing its production. Holland has a packed schedule ahead, with roles in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey”, “Spider-Man 4”, and possible future “Avengers” installments. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
