TON Unveils Gasless Transactions with W5 Smart Wallet

As a seasoned crypto investor with years of experience navigating the complex world of blockchain technology and digital currencies, I am thrilled to hear about the latest innovation in the TON ecosystem: the W5 smart wallet standard. This game-changing development, brought to us by the partnership between the TON Core team and Tonkeeper, promises to make transactions on the TON network gasless and more accessible to a wider audience.

The Core team, in collaboration with the non-custodial wallet Tonkeeper, has introduced the W5 smart wallet norm on the TON network, enabling gas-free transactions.

The Tonkeeper-created W5 smart wallet, which was previously their innovation, has been officially endorsed by the TON Core team. With this wallet, users can now send USDT for transaction fees and Notcoin for gas expenses when transferring Notcoin or USDT respectively. This simplifies the process for new users to engage with the TON blockchain as they no longer need to own Bitcoin.

Oleg Andreev, Tonkeeper’s CEO, highlighted the groundbreaking nature of the W5 smart wallet by saying, “The W5 smart wallet has taken innovation on the TON blockchain to new heights.”

Andreev emphasized the partnership with TON Core, providing users with “unmatched security, productivity, and convenience.” In his opinion, such simplicity is essential for making “blockchain technology accessible to the masses” and turning cryptocurrency into a common household item.

The TON Foundation announced that it is now unnecessary for users to hold toncoin in order to make transactions on the TON blockchain, making it easier and more accessible for newcomers to get involved.

Anatoliy Makosov, the Technical Lead of TON Core, pointed out that the W5 Smart Wallet would improve social connections and spur widespread usage by incorporating two-factor authentication, a straightforward password recovery system, and transaction fees settled in USDT without requiring gas fees, thereby streamlining the sign-up process.

The TON Foundation reveals that the latest standard supports intricate parallel processing capabilities, expanding potential applications by empowering users to execute as many as 255 transactions simultaneously.

Additionally, the text mentions, “For example, users can effortlessly handle several decentralized subscriptions. They can transfer as many as 255 NFTs to various collectors at one go. Moreover, advanced security features such as two-factor authentication, wallet freezing, and key recovery can be set up all at once.”

The latest version of the standard has been released on Tonkeeper and is expected to be adopted soon on TON Space and MyTonWallet, along with other TON-compatible wallets, within the next few months.
