Torrey DeVitto Says She Didn’t Want to Return to ‘Vampire Diaries’ After Divorce From Paul Wesley

As a dedicated gamer and avid fan of The Vampire Diaries, I can’t help but empathize with Torrey DeVitto‘s experience following her divorce from Paul Wesley. Having closely followed their relationship and subsequent split, I was saddened to hear about the “really dark time” she went through post-divorce.

Torrey DeVitto made up her mind instantly not to come back to “The Vampire Diaries” after her divorce from Paul Wesley.

A former Pretty Little Liars actress, who portrayed Dr. Meredith Fell in seasons 3 and 4 of the popular supernatural show, was wedded to Wesley from 2011 to 2013. Wesley is recognized for his role as Stefan Salvatore. After their separation, Devitto revealed on an episode of Rachel Bilson’s Broad Ideas podcast that she experienced a profoundly difficult period in her life.

I’ve never experienced anything quite like that before. It was his debut appearance on such a widely-watched and acclaimed television program. Consequently, all eyes were on him, making the occasion even more nerve-wracking for me.

After their divorce, DeVitto shared that she had lost her motivation to carry on collaborating with Wesley on “The Vampire Diaries” project.

She shared, “I briefly participated in it for about six episodes. When we were parting ways, I thought, ‘Nah, I’m not going back.’ I’m not the type who can compartmentalize and say, ‘This is just business.’ For me, it’s a firm no. I have no intention of returning. I’m content where I am.”

The Chicago Med actress admitted that the public scrutiny of their divorce took her by surprise and caused difficulties in her subsequent relationships. People would often criticize any new partners, commenting negatively and comparing them unfavorably to her ex-husband, Wesley.

DeVitto found the public attention embarrassing since fans idolized Wesley’s character on “The Vampire Diaries,” but they hadn’t truly met or knew him in real life.

Wesley and DeVitto got married four years following their first encounter on the set of “Killer Movie,” which was released in 2007. However, they parted ways two years later.

Later on, the actor from “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” went out with Phoebe Tonkin, known for her roles as Hayley Marshall in “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals.” After that, he wed Ines de Ramon, but they parted ways in 2022. Wesley is currently rumored to be in a relationship with model Natalie Kuckenberg.

Regarding DeVitto, she is presently fiancée to Jared LaPine, and they are set to welcome their initial child into the world.
