Toyota Unveils Revamped GR Corolla

As a long-time manual transmission enthusiast who has spent countless hours navigating twisty roads and wringing every last bit of performance from my beloved hatchbacks, I must say, Toyota has truly outdone themselves with the 2025 GR Corolla. The inclusion of an 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT) with paddle shifters is a game-changer for those who appreciate both worlds – the convenience of an auto and the raw, visceral thrill of rowing their own gears.

As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled about Toyota’s announcement of the 2025 GR Corolla! This beauty is designed with manual transmission enthusiasts like me in mind, but also caters to those who prefer an automatic. The new model boasts an 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT) complete with paddle shifters, making it more appealing to a wider group of drivers, including myself.

Upgrades on the GR Corolla involve a boost in engine torque to 295 lb.-ft., as well as the incorporation of launch control for swift acceleration. The suspension system has been fine-tuned for better handling during turns, while a newly designed front bumper offers improved cooling and aerodynamics.

As an enthusiastic fan, I’m excited to share that the 2025 GR Corolla comes in three fantastic trims: Core, Premium, and the newly introduced Premium Plus. Each model showcases Toyota’s powerful G16E-GTS 1.6L 3-cylinder turbo engine, delivering a whopping 300 hp! The Premium Plus trim boasts unique features like a forged carbon fiber roof, a striking bulge hood, and matte black wheels that add an extra edge to its appeal.

Users will notice improved functionality with the GR-FOUR All-Wheel-Drive setup, Torsen Limited-Slip Differentials, and multiple drive settings designed for diverse driving scenarios. Meanwhile, the interior of the GR Corolla features a digital gauge cluster measuring eight inches, Toyota Audio Multimedia system equipped with an eight-inch touchscreen, and sophisticated connected services.

Priority is given to safety above all else with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which comes equipped with a wide range of helpful driver assistance technologies. The upcoming 2025 GR Corolla models are set to hit dealerships this winter, and more specific details regarding pricing will be released later in the year.
