As a die-hard fan of Travis Kelce, I must say his life is nothing short of extraordinary! From being a three-time Super Bowl champion to dating Taylor Swift, he’s living the American dream! But what truly sets him apart is his passion for acting and comedy.
At the moment, Travis Kelce is juggling quite a few things. He’s gearing up for the upcoming Kansas City Chiefs season as a three-time Super Bowl champion and is considered among the greatest NFL tight ends ever. In addition to his football career, he’ll be making appearances on both television and film screens. To top it all off, he’s in a relationship with one of the world’s most recognized figures, Taylor Swift. It seems like there isn’t much more he could desire – but how about a role in “Happy Gilmore 2“? And guess what? That appears to be in the works as well!
As news surfaced that Adam Sandler is developing a follow-up for his cherished comedy “Happy Gilmore”, Travis Kelce expressed eagerness, promptly tossing his football helmet into the mix, aspiring to land a part in the upcoming film. On their podcast New Heights (co-hosted with his brother, ex-Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce), the enthusiastic Kelce and regular Eras Tour goer declared he’d go to great lengths to feature in “Happy Gilmore 2.”
In May, Kelce stated that he wasn’t aware of any job opening for “Happy Gilmore 2,” but if there was, he’d be more than happy to be an extra. Essentially, he expressed his desire to work on any Adam Sandler film or set. As it turns out, Sandler took notice. During a guest appearance on “The Tonight Show” in August, the host Jimmy Fallon brought up Kelce’s dream, and Sandler seemed quite receptive to the idea. In essence, Sandler invited Kelce to visit, praising him as a kind, charming, and funny individual who would be loved by everyone.
Travis Kelce actually has a few acting gigs lined up
It turns out that Travis Kelce has secured some acting roles, and contrary to popular belief, he isn’t just known for a single obscure comedy appearance. Recently, a trailer for the upcoming series “Grotesquerie” was released on August 15, showcasing a fleeting scene of Kelce with his hands crossing in front of his face. While specifics about Kelce’s part in “Grotesquerie” are scarce, lead actress Niecy Nash-Betts shared with Entertainment Tonight that Kelce’s performance on set has exceeded her expectations, stating in June during filming, “I must say, I’m quite impressed. He’s doing exceptionally well.”
According to Variety, Travis Kelce is considering a role in an upcoming action-comedy titled “Loose Cannons,” produced by Chad Stahelski, known for the “John Wick” series. However, this project is still fresh and Kelce is set to begin a new season with the Kansas City Chiefs, aiming to secure their fourth Super Bowl ring in less than five years. Given Kelce’s athletic abilities and humor, it seems exciting to imagine him in a humorous action movie.
Thanks to Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce also made his debut at the Eras Tour — as an actor
As a passionate gamer, I was thrilled to catch Travis Kelce stepping into the spotlight during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour stop in London back in June. With the tour taking a break until Taylor returns to North America in November (Toronto, Canada), it was a unique opportunity to witness Kelce showcase his performing talents.
In a technical sense, Travis Kelce wasn’t making his first appearance at the Eras Tour if you consider his cameo in Taylor Swift’s “Karma” song back in February. During the closing number, she altered the lyrics from “Karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me” to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs,” specifically for him. With Kelce’s growing acting roles, Taylor Swift now has two options to choose from in the future.
