As a long-time fan of Travis Scott, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming mini-documentary “Spotify Presents: Days Before Rodeo”. Having grown up with La Flame’s music, witnessing his journey from “Owl Pharaoh” to “Days Before Rodeo” and beyond has been nothing short of exhilarating.
Travis Scott and Spotify are preparing for a grand celebration of the 10th anniversary of his groundbreaking album, “Days Before Rodeo”. In honor of this milestone, Spotify will unveil a short documentary, detailing the journey that led to this era-defining album. This concert film invites fans on an exclusive one-time trip to celebrate the Houston rapper’s decade-long success since the album’s release, which was his second commercial mixtape after “Owl Pharaoh”.
Entitled “Spotify Presents: Days Before Rodeo“, this mini concert film is scheduled to be released on Spotify’s YouTube channel. This mini documentary recounts an epic one-night concert in Atlanta from August, where La Flame took fans back to the era of “Days Before Rodeo”. The show was a sell-out, featuring a DJ set by Chase B and Quavo making a surprise appearance on stage. The film captures Scott’s signature intense, energetic performances, giving fans an opportunity to reexperience the live moments of his performances of “Mamacita,” “Basement Freestyle,” “Drugs Don’t Play,” “Skyfall” and many more.
According to Josh Peas, Head of Hip Hop and R&B at Spotify, Travis Scott’s “Days Before Rodeo” is a groundbreaking project that has significantly impacted the music scene. As we approach the 10th anniversary of this mixtape and its streaming release, we wanted to mark the occasion and recapture the electric atmosphere it generated for all music enthusiasts. By collaborating with the Cactus Jack team on an exclusive show in Atlanta for Spotify’s top fans, we managed to revisit the origins of the project. This concert documentary is a fitting tribute to that special night and serves as an enjoyable keepsake for everyone. Released now, it stands as a time capsule to chronicle this story for future generations, featuring collaborations with notable artists like Migos, Big Sean, Young Thug, and the late Rich Homie Quan.
