Travis Scott’s “4X4” Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 This Week

This week, Travis Scott’s latest single “4X4” has topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Released just a few days ago on January 24th, it marks the rapper’s fifth time leading this prestigious music list.

4X4, which was released in early January 2021 and featured Scott’s collaborations with Young Thug and M.I.A., topped the charts for a week following its release. Prior to this, “Franchise” from October 2020, “The Scotts” with Kid Cudi from May 2020, “Highest in the Room” from October 2019 and “Sicko Mode” from December 2018 also ranked at No. 1 on various charts. Interestingly, “Sicko Mode” started at No. 4 before climbing to the top spot. The track was played live for the first time during Travis Scott’s halftime performance at the College Football Playoff National Championship in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on January 20. In addition, proceeds from the song and its accompanying merchandise will go towards Direct Relief’s California Wildfire Response Fund to aid those affected by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.

This week, another standout song is Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” that ranks No. 5 on the Hot 100 chart. After an impressive 19 weeks at the top spot, it has maintained its popularity and has now equaled The Weeknd’s record by spending 27 weeks as the longest-reigning single on the Radio Songs chart. This means “Blinding Lights” and “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” both hold the title for the longest run at No. 1 on this particular chart.
