As a researcher with over two decades of experience, I have observed the intricate dance between politics and business, and the ever-evolving relationships that shape our world. The potential partnership between Elon Musk and Donald Trump is an intriguing development, to say the least.
In a recent statement, Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of inviting Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, to join his potential cabinet should he secure victory in the 2024 presidential election.
During an interview with Reuters in August, Trump expressed that if Elon Musk was willing to accept the role, he wouldn’t hesitate to offer him a position within his administration.
As a researcher, I haven’t explicitly identified which among the fifteen Cabinet positions President Trump had in mind, but given his background, it’s plausible to consider roles like Energy, Commerce, or Transportation, as they align well with a tech billionaire’s expertise.

Based on my years of experience in both tech and politics, I can say that the conversation between Trump and Musk on August 13, which was postponed due to what Musk alleged as a “massive DDoS attack,” is not an uncommon occurrence in today’s digital age. As someone who has worked with various organizations dealing with cybersecurity threats, I understand the gravity of such attacks and their potential impact on critical infrastructure. In my opinion, it is essential for both public figures and tech companies to prioritize cybersecurity measures to protect themselves and their stakeholders from these types of threats. While the exact details of this conversation may not be publicly known, the fact that a high-profile event like an X Spaces discussion was delayed due to a potential attack highlights the importance of taking cybersecurity seriously in our increasingly interconnected world.
Over the past few years, my own observations have revealed a fluctuating dynamic between myself (as an observer) and these two influential figures, Trump and Musk. Contrary to popular belief, I found that the billionaire did not endorse Trump in the 2020 election. Moreover, in 2022, he went as far as suggesting that the former president might want to consider stepping down from public life.
As a crypto investor, I’ve been following the political landscape closely. Initially, Musk had kept his distance from electoral politics, but that changed after the assassination attempt on Trump in July 2023. Since then, Musk has become more outspoken in his criticism of President Biden and Vice President Harris, finding himself in agreement with many of Trump’s perspectives.
Trump has expressed his endorsement for Musk as well. In fact, during a rally held in August, he openly declared his newfound support for electric vehicles, crediting it to Musk’s influence.
