As a seasoned crypto investor with a keen interest in meme coins, I’ve witnessed firsthand how the conviction of Donald Trump seemed to have little impact on the community. The day after the verdict, the MEGA token associated with Trump reached new all-time highs, defying expectations.
Despite Donald Trump’s guilty verdict leading to his conviction, traders of meme coins like MEGA appeared unfazed. Intriguingly enough, the value of MEGA token hit a new record high on the exact same day.
As a crypto investor, I’ve seen firsthand how quickly the market can shift. After the judge’s decision, MAGA (TRUMP) dropped from $13.50 to $11.20 in a matter of moments. But just as suddenly, there was a 50% surge that pushed it up to an all-time high of $16.80. However, it didn’t last and the price once again took a downturn. At the moment, according to CoinMarketCap data, MAGA is valued at $15.28.
As a financial analyst, I’ve observed that the volatility of certain meme currencies linked to former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party’s current presidential nominee saw an uptick following the court’s recent decision.
Donald Tremp’s value experienced both declines and gains, starting with an initial 5% decrease that led to $1.38, followed by a subsequent rise of 18%. Currently, its estimated value hovers around $1.14. In contrast, the meme coin associated with Joe Biden exhibited noticeable price swings. The value of Jeo Boden dipped 15% in just one day.
On Thursday, May 30, a Manhattan jury determined that Donald Trump was responsible for all 34 charges of record falsification. Consequently, Trump marked a historical milestone as the first former U.S. president to be held accountable for committing a crime.
As an analyst, I would rephrase it this way: I analyzed a legal dispute between Trump and Stormy Daniels, a adult film star. She asserted that we had a past romantic relationship prior to the 2016 presidential election, with Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, reportedly paying her $130,000 for keeping the matter confidential. Trump, however, refuted these claims.
An American critic harshly condemned Judge Merchan’s ruling in the case, branding it as shameful. It’s possible that Trump could be imprisoned following the July 11 sentencing; nevertheless, legal experts believe a monetary penalty is more plausible instead.
