Trump’s Inauguration Gets a Crypto Boost from Ethereum Bridge Protocol Sponsorship!

Orbiter Finance, an Ethereum-centric cross-chain protocol, has declared that they will be providing financial support for Donald Trump’s inaugural address, concurrently planning to distribute their latest governance token through an airdrop.

Based on information from Etherscan, Orbiter Finance has already transferred 10 ETH (approximately $33,607) to the smart contract wallet associated with Trump’s token, World Liberty Financial. This donation was facilitated using Orbiter’s OmniChain interoperability system.

On Monday, January 20th, Donald Trump will be inaugurated as President, taking place around noon inside the Capitol Rotunda.

In a recent statement, they pledged to continuously provide contributions during Donald Trump’s term in office once he assumes the presidency.

Besides Orbiter, several significant cryptocurrency companies such as Ripple, Coinbase, Kraken, and Robinhood are reported by Politico to have contributed at least $10 million each towards Trump’s inauguration festivities, showing their support for the new president-elect who is considered pro-cryptocurrency.

Before making the donation announcement, Orbiter had previously announced that they would distribute their governance token, OBT, on the same day as Donald Trump’s inauguration.

40% of the token’s entire stockpile has been reserved for community giveaways as per the protocol, with 22% of eligible recipients receiving an initial 22% share. The leftover 3% will be apportioned monthly over a span of six months. (As earlier reported by crypto.news)

As an analyst, I would state it this way: To qualify for the airdrop, I, or any user, need to have engaged consistently with Orbiter’s cross-chain system for a minimum period of 60 days, starting from December 2021.

Interestingly, just before his inauguration, Trump introduced his personal meme cryptocurrency, $TRUMP, on January 18th. Within a day of its release, the $TRUMP token amassed a market cap exceeding $10 billion.

Balaji Srinivasan, who was previously the CTO at Coinbase, recommended that President-elect Trump distribute a cryptocurrency called $TRUMP to every citizen in the U.S. via an email list as a form of airdrop. He suggests that such a large-scale airdrop could persuade Democrats to support Trump’s presidency and his pro-cryptocurrency policies.
