'Tulsa King' Season 3 Gets Huge Update From Season 2 Star Frank Grillo

As a movie connoisseur who has been following the industry for the better part of five decades, I must say that Frank Grillo’s performance in Tulsa King this season has been nothing short of captivating. His character, Bill Bevilaqua, has provided the perfect counterbalance to Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight “The General” Manfredi, making their on-screen chemistry a delight for viewers.

One of the great new additions to Tulsa King this season has undoubtedly been Frank Grillo. His character of Bill Bevilaqua has been the perfect yang to Sylvester Stallone’s ying, and watching the two action legends share the screen together has been a treat for the audience. For Grillo – whose career spans more than three decades – he recently said that acting opposite Stallone is something he can finally check off his bucket list, while at the same time providing fans with a big update on Tulsa King Season 3.

As I prepared for our chat with Collider ahead of tonight’s season finale on Paramount+, I reflected on the impact Sylvester Stallone, 78, has had on my life and career. I shared that working alongside one of my childhood heroes has been nothing short of a dream realized.

Working alongside Sly, someone who inspired me to pursue acting and eventually became a friend before our collaboration in ‘Tulsa King’, is truly fulfilling. To share the screen with him, as well as Stallone, and engage in nine-page scenes together, has brought my journey full circle. It’s an incredible experience.

It was at that moment when Grillo hinted that he might reappear in the upcoming third season of Tulsa King. He further mentioned, “It seems we’re going to do Season 3.” This is exciting news for fans who have been eagerly waiting for updates about their favorite crime drama. Although Grillo’s remarks haven’t been officially confirmed by either Stallone or Paramount+ yet, it appears the production is moving forward. Given the series’ widespread acclaim among both viewers and critics, this isn’t much of a shocker. Currently, Tulsa King boasts an impressive overall rating of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, with Season 2 scoring a perfect 100%.

Frank Grillo Teases ‘Tulsa King’ Season 2’s “Serious” Ending

When Tulsa King premiered in 2022, it quickly gained praise for blending humor with its dramatic elements. Sylvester Stallone’s dry wit as Dwight “The General” Manfredi in a familiar fish-out-of-water scenario brought a touch of comedy to the crime genre. Furthermore, characters like Martin Starr (Lawrence “Bodhi” Geigerman) and Jay Will (Tyson Mitchell) ensured that this show would captivate not only dedicated Sylvester Stallone followers but also casual viewers alike.

The second season of “Tulsa King” has largely maintained its established pattern so far, but when the climactic confrontation between Grillo and Stallone arrives, as the head of the Kansas City crime family put it, “The series transitions from having a touch of comedy and humor to becoming quite intense towards the end.” This phrase may be open to interpretation, but if Grillo is hinting at a potential return for Season 3, we can confidently say that Bevilaqua’s storyline will not reach its conclusion just yet.

Tune in to Parmount+ today to see how it all shakes out, and catch Grillo next in the action-horror flick Werewolves, which hits theaters everywhere on Dec. 6.
