As a lifestyle expert reflecting on the journey of Twinkle Khanna, I am consistently inspired by her relentless pursuit of personal growth and self-determination. Her life story is a testament to the power of following one’s dreams, even when faced with adversity or societal expectations.
Twinkle Khanna initially made her acting debut in Bollywood through the movie “Barsaat” in 1995, and later appeared in a few films such as “Mela,” “Joru Ka Ghulam,” and “Baadshah.” However, she has taken a break from acting and has been focusing on her writing career. Today, Twinkle is not just an actress but also an author and film producer. Recently, she expressed gratitude for Akshay Kumar’s support in moving their daughter, Nitara, and herself to London. Twinkle mentioned that she would have relocated regardless of whether or not Akshay was comfortable with it.
During a conversation with FICCI FLO, Twinkle Khanna discussed the experience of growing up in an unusual family environment, where seeking approval from others is not part of her life. Reflecting on her family’s backing, Twinkle expressed gratitude that her husband, Akshay Kumar, was fine with her moving to another country along with their daughter Nitara.
Twinkle mentioned that she would’ve carried out the action even if it wouldn’t have been easy on him, as it would have been challenging and distressing. She added that there would have been a great deal of noise and turmoil, but fortunately, he was fine with it.
Following her high school graduation, Twinkle Khanna initially aspired for a career in chartered accounting. Yet, due to the wishes of her parents, the legendary actor Rajesh Khanna and renowned actress Dimple Kapadia, she ventured into show business instead.
At the age of 49, Twinkle chose to further her education. After taking advantage of short-term online classes during the pandemic, she fully committed herself as a student. This year, she received her master’s degree from Goldsmiths, University of London and graduated in January.
Reflecting on our journey together, I penned a heartfelt tribute to my extraordinary wife, Twinkle Khanna, on Instagram after my graduation. “The moment I witnessed you seamlessly balance the demands of a full-time student, home, career, and family, I realized I had married a superhero,” reads an excerpt from my old post.
Twinkle Khanna most recently appeared on screen in the 2001 movie “Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega.” In a producing role, her last project was the 2018 film “Pad Man,” starring Akshay Kumar. She has also written several books, including “Mrs Funnybones,” “The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad,” and “Pyjamas Are Forgiving.
