Uma Thurman Joins ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ in Thrilling New Role!

Fans of Dexter have plenty to be excited about this year! Not only is the series Dexter: Origins ongoing on Showtime and available on Paramount+, but a new installment titled Dexter: Resurrection will debut in June. To make things even more intriguing, the upcoming sequel series has just secured one of the most renowned actors to ever grace the Dexter universe – Uma Thurman!

According to the latest reports, Uma Thurman has agreed to play a main character in Dexter: Resurrection. This brings her together once again with Michael C. Hall, who portrays the title character – a serial killer, David Zayas as Angel Batista, James Remar as Harry Morgan, and Jack Alcott as Harrison, Dexter’s son. Uma Thurman, a renowned global star, is sure to lend an impressive amount of stardom to the series. While she may be best known for her supporting role in Quentin Tarantino’s classic film Pulp Fiction and her starring roles in Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, her most recent acting endeavor was in Paul Schrader’s 2024 drama Oh, Canada, where she shared the screen with Richard Gere, Michael Imperioli, and Jacob Elordi.

In the upcoming series titled “Dexter: Resurrection“, Samuel L. Jackson will assume the character of Charley, a veteran Special Ops officer turned private security professional. Charley has held several prominent positions prior to his current role, which is Head of Security for an enigmatic billionaire named Leon Prater. As of now, there’s no information on who will play Prater, but given that the series started filming this month, we anticipate the casting announcement to be made soon.

What Uma Thurman’s Role Means for ‘Dexter: Resurrection’

Now that Thurman has joined the cast and her role has been unveiled for Dexter: Resurrection, it provides a glimpse into where series creator Clyde Phillips might be steering the sequel’s narrative. Since Origins definitively proved that Dexter is still alive and under police custody, we can infer that he will eventually find a way to break free in order to continue satisfying the demands of his Dark Passenger.

It seems that Dexter will either need to track down Prater and navigate through Thurman’s character in order to find him, or, given the peculiarities of billionaires, Prater might be hunting him as a trophy for his collection. Either way, it looks like Dexter and Charley will develop a unique bond as events unfold; there’s even a chance they may connect on a romantic level. If Phillips wants to add some unexpected twists, he could have Batista understand Dexter’s perspective and persuade him to target the billionaire instead.

Of course, there are several paths that the series Dexter: Resurrection might take at this point, although no official storylines have been announced. It’s always exciting to imagine potential developments, and that’s a big part of what makes watching the show so enjoyable. With Origins currently airing, it provides even more complexity to an already multidimensional character. Keep an eye out for Dexter: Resurrection to debut in June 2025. Catch up on the entire Dexter universe – including Origins – now streaming on Showtime with Paramount+.
