Umbro Better Release *That* Chainmail Football Jersey

When designer Giovanni Nordio posted a picture of an armor-like Umbro football jersey made from chainmail on Instagram during summer, it caught the attention of fashion enthusiasts and was frequently featured on their explore pages. This unique twist on the classic athletic top, complete with Umbro’s distinctive double diamond logo in the center, is reminiscent of knightly armor due to its heavy metal construction. Fingers crossed that acquiring one will be like a real joust!

In partnership with Umbro, Slam Jam’s striking silhouette is part of an ongoing collaboration, where the Italian label is reviving Umbro’s fashionable appeal by creating “Slam Jam designs for Umbro” collections. Currently, they are hinting at the launch of their Spring/Summer 2025 collection, starting with a picture showcasing a medieval soccer jersey as the lead image.

It seems the brand hasn’t disclosed the timeline for releasing the viral silhouette yet, or even if it will be launched at all. Interestingly, this design doesn’t appear in the original selection of products.
