In a sneak peek for the upcoming Marvel Comics release, Giant-Size X-Men #1, readers witness Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) confiding about her recent life upheavals to her longtime companion Bruno Carrelli. While Kamala has been engaged in combat against characters like Mojo, Bruno has been diligently working on groundbreaking technology in his lab. Kamala, who later became known as Ms. Marvel, had already been friends with Bruno since their childhood days. Their friendship started way before she began her career as a superheroine. They were first introduced to each other in the comic book “All-New Marvel NOW! Point One” #1, written by G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona. The story was titled “Garden State of Mind.” Bruno and Kamala have always supported each other through thick and thin, with Kamala helping Bruno cope with his difficult family situation and Bruno assisting Kamala in her superhero activities, particularly in creating the suit she uses during her heroic missions.

In Giant-Size X-Men #1, Ms. Marvel isn’t caught off guard by her time-traveling journey, as she’s had experiences like this before and has encountered Cyclops under similar circumstances. Earlier, Ms. Marvel led the Champions, a team that included a younger version of Scott Summers who stayed with them for quite some time. After being sent back to his own era, he grew up and developed a close bond with Kamala Khan herself.

Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing, the writers behind the series, made an announcement teasing major developments as the storyline progresses. “No empty promises,” they stated, “each issue of Giant-Size is designed to astonish you and tug at your heartstrings.” They further added, “The world of mutants offers the most expansive and intricate backdrop in Marvel’s rich history – a setting that has sparked passionate debates and fascinated us ever since we were comic book enthusiasts at our local store as teenagers.

Giant-Size X-Men #1 goes on sale May 28 from Marvel Comics.
