UNIQLO Has Just Dropped Its KAWS + Warhol UT Collection

As a lifelong fan of both KAWS and Warhol, I can confidently say that this UNIQLO UT collaboration is nothing short of a dream come true! Growing up, I was captivated by the unique and vibrant worlds these artists created, and now to see them united in one collection is truly remarkable.

UNIQLO’s eagerly awaited KAWS and Warhol T-shirt collection, featuring a unique blend of graphics inspired by both artists, has been released globally. Previews were given earlier this month, showcasing the special design that combines elements from the exhibited artworks of these two renowned artists on everyday clothing items.

For the very first time, my designs and those of the legendary Warhol are together in a special UNIQLO collection, marking our debut exhibition side by side. In the past, I’ve been honored to create unique versions of my iconic characters for their T-shirts, bags, and toys. Similarly, the estate of Warhol has given new life to his prints on limited-edition mid-layers. The response to these collaborations has been incredible, making it no surprise that this joint effort is selling out everywhere!

In conversation about the KAWS + Warhol UT show, Patrick Moore, the curator, notes that both artists have blurred the lines between commercial and fine art throughout their work. UNIQLO’s part in this event effortlessly transitions between the exhibition, merchandise, and a captivating catalog, reaching an expansive global audience.











In this collection by UNIQLO, you’ll find a variety of items such as coach jackets, sweatshirts, T-shirts, lounge pants, and accessories. Each item showcases a blend of one print with a sketch, creating a harmonious tribute to the artists’ distinctive styles. The star design, which combines the KAWS Companion figure with the Moon Explorer Robot illustration by Warhol, is displayed on three items: a jacket, a T-shirt, and a bag.

A grey sweatsuit also stands out as a must-have set from the range. For the top, KAWS’ character is seen holding Warhol’s pop-art banana print, and on the matching bottoms, the two hallmarks are seen tucked into the pocket and beside the ankle. This playful arrangement can be seen across the collection with artwork placed in unexpected places on the garments and accessories.
