As a seasoned gamer and theme park enthusiast with over two decades of immersive storytelling experiences under my belt, the announcement of Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe has sent a wave of exhilaration coursing through me. The prospect of stepping into worlds as iconic as Harry Potter, How To Train Your Dragon, and Super Nintendo is nothing short of breathtaking.
Universal Orlando‘s portals are about to open.
The NBCUniversal division responsible for theme parks and experiences announced that their highly anticipated Epic Universe park, dubbed as their most ambitious project to date, is set to make its grand debut on May 22nd, 2025.
The company revealed the launch date, which is set for this coming Thursday, and mentioned that sales of multi-day passes and packages will commence starting October 22nd.
At Epic Universe, visitors can explore five unique realms, each reachable via separate gateways. These realms showcase iconic properties from NBCUniversal and various other entities. This encompasses a fresh Harry Potter-inspired zone called the Ministry of Magic, a land dedicated to the adventures depicted in How To Train Your Dragon, Super Nintendo territory, and Dark Universe, modeled after classic horror tales like Frankenstein and The Mummy from Universal Monsters.
This is a crucial point in our journey as a destination, and we’re delighted to invite visitors to explore Epic Universe next year,” expressed Karen Irwin, President and COO of Universal Orlando Resort. “The arrival of this amazing new theme park will transform their vacation into an extraordinary adventure packed with a week’s worth of excitement that will undeniably be epic! Our universe is set to undergo a remarkable change.
