Unlock Epic Multiplayer in Monster Hunter Wilds: Join Friends Across All Platforms!

A significant part of the enjoyment derived from Monster Hunter Worlds lies in teaming up with friends to take down powerful monsters in the multiplayer mode.

In Monster Hunter World (MHW), it’s difficult to resist the allure of teaming up with other players during quests or resource gathering. However, finding the menu option to add friends and collaborate can sometimes prove challenging due to the game’s intricate interface.

In this guide, we’ll navigate every multiplayer option in Monster Hunter Wilds and how to find it.

How to add friends

To invite a friend to play Monster Hunter Wilds, you can use either the ‘Lobby Members’ or ‘Hunter ID search’ options found under the ‘Member List’ in the ‘Communication menu’. This menu can be accessed by pressing the Esc or Options key and selecting the speech bubble icon.

After discovering them, you can create a permanent Link Party to enjoy multiplayer gaming sessions with your close-knit circle of friends. Even when you momentarily part ways, you can reconnect and continue the fun.

How to invite friends to a party

In the ‘Communications’ section, search for the “Invite to a Link Party” option to extend invitations to three more players for your gathering.

You’re able to engage in conversations and ask others to join you on missions by using the ‘Invite to Environment Link’ feature. Remember, though, that the members of your Party Link might choose not to join your mission within your environment. Also, this option may not always be accessible because of certain progression limitations.

How to send an SOS Flare

In case you need assistance while battling a monster, you can call for help by sending an SOS Flare. This can be done by following these simple instructions:

1. First, ensure that you have enough materials to craft an SOS Flare.
2. Next, find the appropriate location to set off your flare.
3. After that, use the crafting menu to create and send out your SOS signal.
4. Finally, wait for other Hunter players or NPCs to respond and join the battle.

Hope this helps!

  • On PC, press F2 to open the action hotbar and select the SOS Flare option.
  • On PlayStation, press L1, arrow up, and pull the left analog stick down to select the SOS Flare.
  • On Xbox, press LB, arrow up, and pull the right analog stick down to select the SOS Flare.

If you’ve carried out the instructions correctly, your Palico will depart, and in its place, either three other players or non-player characters (NPCs) will join your team. Please note that it might take a few minutes for them to reach the boss zone.

How to change lobbies

You can modify the lobby by having a conversation with Alma at the Quest Center, then choosing the “Change Lobby” option.

Here are a couple of options that maintain the original meaning while using more colloquial language for easier reading:

1. “If you’re having trouble locating her, just remember she might be at a campground or could possibly be trailing you in her own secretive manner.”

2. “If it’s tough to find her, keep in mind she could be hanging out at a campsite or following you stealthily in her own mysterious way.”

3. “If you can’t seem to locate her, take note that she may either be found at a campsite or might be tagging along with you inconspicuously using her own clandestine means.”

What are lobbies

In lobbies, you can play with other players. These can be private or recommended public lobbies.

  • Recommended lobby: By selecting this option, you’ll join the most popular lobby based on your settings.
  • Private lobby: By searching for a lobby ID, you can join a private lobby with specific members.

How to create or join a Squad

In most games, teams function much like the fellowships found in guilds. By becoming a member of or initiating one in Monster Hunter Wilds, you’re essentially building your own group that serves as a community.

  • Joining a Squad: Select the option Apply to Join at the Squad Information Counter.
  • Creating a Squad: Select the option Form a Squad at the Squad Information Counter.

At any campsite you visit, you’ll likely come across my favorite spot, the Squad Info Hub – a place that always feels like home, thanks to the warm presence of Felicita. She’s easily recognizable in her striking white and blue attire.

There will be a total of eight teams, each consisting of fifty individuals. To handle these teams effectively, you can opt for the “Manage Teams” option located under the Information menu.
