As a lifestyle expert with years of experience in the entertainment industry, I have come to appreciate the dynamic nature of celebrity interactions and the often-blurred line between playful banter and questionable behavior. In the case of Varun Dhawan, his energetic personality and candid attitude are undeniably endearing, but it’s essential to address the concerns raised by netizens regarding his interactions with female co-stars.
Varun Dhawan’s lively demeanor, jovial character, and straightforward approach in interviews frequently wins over social media users, yet some critics claim he oversteps boundaries. The actor recently responded to accusations by certain netizens that he acts inappropriately towards his female co-stars such as Kiara Advani and Alia Bhatt, based on clips circulating online. He clarified that these are just expressions of his personality and that such instances are typically pre-planned, while always being mindful not to overstep the boundaries with them.
In a recent chat with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, Varun Dhawan addressed some videos that surfaced, depicting him playfully kissing Kiara’s cheek during a photoshoot and touching Alia’s belly at a live event. As these clips went viral, they sparked discussions about whether he overstepped boundaries with them. However, the actor downplayed such speculations, stating it was just innocent fun.
In a friendly manner, the actor from Bhediya shared that he enjoys being playful around his fellow actors when everyone is in a positive environment. He clarified that this behavior is consistent whether his co-star is male or female, adding, “If it’s all fun and games within a pleasant atmosphere, be it a man or a woman… I enjoy interacting with my male co-stars too, but people don’t seem to acknowledge that.
Dhawan shared that the kiss he shared with Kiara Advani during the photoshoot was something they had pre-arranged together. He expressed his gratitude to the interviewer for allowing him to clear up any confusion about it. “It was a pre-planned moment,” said Dhawan, adding that both he and Kiara had posted the clip on their social media platforms. The kiss was part of a digital cover shoot, where they wanted some dynamic footage, so they decided to stage that particular scene.
When asked to explain why the actress seemed surprised, Varun praised her acting abilities and admitted that he’d acknowledge when something wasn’t planned. However, in this instance, it was.
He jokingly attempted to shove Kiara towards the pool, grabbing her around the middle. In the recording, Advani could be heard telling him to halt, and Dhawan acknowledged that it was an impromptu incident. Dhawan admitted, “I intentionally did that. It was just a fun moment. It wasn’t premeditated. I guess that’s just my spontaneous side.
Additionally, he also presented his version of events on the viral video where he touched Alia Bhatt’s belly during a live show that some online users considered inappropriate. The actor from Citadel’s Honey Bunny role clarified, “I did it playfully, not to flirt. We’re friends.
In case you didn’t know, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt initially worked together in Karan Johar’s film Student Of The Year, and subsequently, they have formed a successful acting duo in movies such as Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, and Kalank.
