VeChain, a blockchain company, teamed up with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to launch a risky venture: creating NFC-chip enabled tokenized gloves for UFC fighters. These gloves will record fight data and guarantee each pair’s authenticity using VeChain’s Near Field Communication technology.
The Software aims to detect fraudulent sales of UFC memorabilia from the secondary market, specifically focusing on gloves used in UFC fights. Starting from UFC 300 on April 13, fighters will switch to NFC-enabled smart gloves during matches. Later, these gloves will be donated by the athletes and turned into unique collector’s items. Ultimately, these collectible gloves will be sold to fans who are eager to own a piece of UFC history and appreciate their value.
On the VeChainThor network, intelligent contracts guarantee authenticity of gloves purchases, preventing deceitful transactions. VeChain’s ToolChain system, managing the supply chain, eliminates intermediaries and ensures smooth delivery.
Twelve pairs of gloves will initially be presented to notable personalities such as Joe Rogan and Dana White for them to publicly announce our collaboration during a live broadcast.
