As a dedicated follower of the Bollywood scene, I must admit that Sharvari Wagh has truly caught my attention with her captivating performances in recent films like Vedaa and Munjya. Her latest interview, however, has piqued my curiosity even more. Her candid admission about wanting to play Vikrant Massey’s role in the sleeper hit 12th Fail is not only intriguing but also speaks volumes about her dedication and passion for her craft.
At present, Sharvari Wagh is garnering attention due to her impressive acting in the recently unveiled action movie Vedaa. Over the past few days, the actress has been keeping quite busy with promotional activities for her latest venture. In a recent chat, she shared her affection for the film 12th Fail and expressed a wish to portray Vikrant Massey’s role. Although she acknowledged that this idea was unlikely, Sharvari stated that the character’s depiction had deeply moved her.
In a chat with Shubhankar Mishra, Sharvari admitted that she had seen a movie where she wished she had been cast in the lead role instead of the actress. She explained that her response was unusual by saying, “It’s not about an actress, but after watching the film, I found myself wishing that I could have had a character like that which, ironically, was referred to as ’12th Fail’.”
Additionally, Sharvari Wagh expressed her desire to take on Vikrant Massey’s role. Complimenting the Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba actor’s remarkable performance in the Vidhu Vinod Chopra production, she labeled him ‘exceptional.’ The Munjya actress mentioned that despite knowing that 12th Fail is based on a real-life story, she aspired to play Vikrant’s part. Sharvari commended the film’s plot and its development. Furthermore, the actress also highlighted Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies, which was recently shown to Supreme Court judges.
For those unfamiliar, “12th Fail” is a biographical drama that tells the story of IPS Manoj Kumar Sharma and his challenges while studying for the UPSC examinations. The film surprised audiences at the box office in 2023 and was highly regarded as one of the best movies of that year.
Career-wise, Sharvari is soaring following the success of Munjya, her debut in Maddock Films’ Horror-Comedy Universe. Currently, her film Vedaa is running in cinemas. Next up for her is Alpha, where she will share screen time with Alia Bhatt and Bobby Deol.
