As a seasoned Vegas adventurer with more than a few tales to tell, let me share my insider’s perspective on this vibrant city that never sleeps.
Your hidden-gem restaurant or bar in Vegas?
Bavette steaks, either at Park MGM or elsewhere within Area 15 – the interactive art experience offered by Meow Wolf is definitely enjoyable. A spot with a warning sign reading “No unlawful substances” outside tells me it’s definitely worth checking out!
In Vegas, you have to….
Experience a trek through the stunning landscapes of Red Rock, indulge in an exhilarating ATV ride with a dash of thrill (though it can be risky, it’s incredibly fun), try your hand at the lively game of craps, and leave your cautious side behind as you embark on this unforgettable adventure.
In Vegas, you should never…
Consider leaving your boyfriend at the bar for a while, as there might be numerous women who work in the service industry approaching him, regardless of whether you’ve only stepped out to use the restroom. It would be best for him to find a safe place to stay until you return.
What’s the most accurate stereotype of Vegas?
This town is often referred to as “Sin City.” Indeed, it bears this title. As you navigate through its streets, particularly on the highways, you can sense a growing tension, almost like a crescendo, as your speed increases.
What’s the most inaccurate?
Although it boasts sports, culture, art, beautiful fountains, glittering lights, and excellent dining options, there’s a melancholic, rundown atmosphere to this place. It seems filled with many individuals who are downtrodden and searching for their break, making it a somewhat disheartening sight despite its other appealing aspects. The haunting presence of lost souls is hard to ignore.
What film or TV series gets (an aspect of) Vegas right?
Hangover, Very Bad Things, CSI.
What film or series gets it wrong?
All of the Oceans movies but they are so good so who is worrying about accuracy! Oh and CSI lol.
Best place to experience the real Vegas?
Where can one go if they want to avoid the Strip, but isn’t everything there genuine – like the casinos, bars, eateries (even the overpriced ones), shows – it’s all authentic?
What are some alternative places to explore?
Instead of Summerlin’s red rock mountains or Mount Charleston for skiing, consider staying near the city and enjoying Area 15, or simply return to sunny Los Angeles – I find it more appealing here.
Your most interesting, funniest celebrity interaction?
Anticipating the arrival of Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr into the exclusive VIP room at The Mirage, where we’ll discuss “The Beatles: Eight Days a Week.” In that moment, waiting for them to enter, I experienced an overwhelming star-struck sensation. I had to compose myself swiftly in order to converse with them professionally. Fortunately, it seems they didn’t notice my jittery state.
