As a lifelong comic book enthusiast who grew up watching Spider-Man battle Venom on Saturday mornings, I can confidently say that Kelly Marcel’s “Venom: The Last Dance” has exceeded my expectations in every possible way. After decades of waiting for the perfect Venom film, Sony Pictures finally delivered a blockbuster that lives up to the hype.
On Monday evening, the world got a first glimpse of Kelly Marcel’s movie, “Venom: The Last Dance“, as it had its world premiere at Sony Pictures in New York. Already, initial responses to the film have been shared on social media.
In the concluding chapter of the Tom Hardy-led “Venom” series, Eddie Brock – a Brit portraying a beleaguered character – shares screen time with his symbiote alien companion, Venom, who has a tendency to nibble on heads. The movie continues the story from “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” finding Eddie and Venom evading both Earth’s authorities and extraterrestrial forces hailing from Venom’s native planet, as they elude capture.
In addition to the main characters, actress Juno Temple from Ted Lasso, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham are also part of this production. Among them, Temple plays a role, while Ejiofor, Ifans, Lu, Ubach, and Graham portray Patrick Mulligan and the symbiote Toxin respectively.
Beyond just directing the project, Marcel also penned the screenplay. The narrative is attributed to both Marcel and Hardy. Alongside Hardy, Marcel, Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker all take on producer roles.
For the third time, a “Venom” film will premiere in October theaters, and it seems this pre-Halloween slot has proven beneficial for the series. The initial movie grossed over $850 million worldwide, while its sequel also exceeded the $500 million mark globally.
Venom: The Last Dance releases wide in theaters Oct. 25.
Even though comprehensive reviews for “Venom 3” will be published on Wednesday, here’s a glimpse at some initial responses following the movie’s premiere on Monday evening.

1) The thing isn’t flawless; it’s got a long way to go. But compared to Venom? It’s light years ahead and offers a much richer storyline than Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
