- Venom and Dracula Are an Intriguing Pair
As a seasoned comic book enthusiast who’s spent countless hours flipping through panels and pages, I must say that the amalgamation of Venom and Dracula in the Avengers Assemble series was an absolute game-changer for me. It was like Marvel decided to brew a cocktail of my favorite characters and pour it straight into my eyes!
It’s clear that the latest trailer for “Venom: The Last Dance” has captured everyone’s interest for two main reasons. Firstly, the jaw-dropping revelation that Knull, the King in Black, is making his way into Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. This symbiote deity is certain to pose a severe threat not only to Venom and Spider-Man but also to anyone who dares to confront him. Secondly, the intriguing appearance of “Venom Horse” has moved into second place in terms of excitement. Despite being unveiled a month ago, discussions about this fascinating symbiote-animal hybrid are still prevalent among fans and media outlets. However, it’s important to note that the excitement for “Venom: The Last Dance” doesn’t compare to what Disney XD viewers experienced in 2018. In an eerie sequence, this alien goo didn’t bond with Eddie Brock as usual but instead linked up with a terrifying and iconic monster instead.
In recent times, I’ve noticed that Venom isn’t picky about its hosts. From Ms. Marvel and The Punisher to the Guardians of the Galaxy, it seems like there’s no end to the characters Venom has bonded with. Even more unexpected hosts like Grendel and his mother from an old Germanic poem, or a T-Rex have felt Venom’s symbiote! Reading about these adventures in comics is fascinating, but witnessing it unfold in an animated series takes it to another level of crazy. In the fourth season of Avengers Assemble, which was based on the Secret Wars storyline, Venom chose to possess a classic undead entity, making for quite an exciting spectacle!
Venom and Dracula in Avengers Assemble
Prior to “The Immortal Weapon” episode, both the original Avengers squad and The New Avengers (comprising Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Vision, Ant-Man, and The Wasp) successfully thwarted Loki’s conquest of Earth and jailed him in their stronghold. However, ever cunning, Loki had revealed Earth to the Beyonder during his brief freedom. This cosmic entity then utilized the Bifrost Bridge to blend various realms, creating Battleworld. “The Immortal Weapon” unfolds as the Avengers (including Loki) scramble to amass the fragments to rebuild the Bifrost Bridge, escape Battleworld, and halt the Beyonder’s actions. A scenario like this in a live-action movie would undoubtedly delight comic book enthusiasts.
As a dedicated movie enthusiast, let me rephrase that for you: In the grand Marvel tapestry that has been twisted by the Beyond, Heimdall’s enchanted sword now resides in Iron Fist’s mystical city of K’un-Lun – a place where it also serves to contain Dracula within his tomb. Black Panther and Falcon are sent on a mission to retrieve this Asgardian artifact. The details of why the sword ended up in a castle or was lodged in the ground matter little to me, as I pull it free with Falcon’s winged suit, unleashing Dracula and his horde of the undead. The idea of Iron Fist, Black Panther, and Falcon battling against Dracula and an army of zombies is quite the spectacle, but the writers of this show have a knack for adding unexpected twists. As we flee from our foes, we stumble upon a downed satellite and shattered vial. We speculate about its origins, only to learn the grim truth later on.
Venom and Dracula Are an Intriguing Pair
As a die-hard film enthusiast, I found myself gripped by the tension between Black Panther and Falcon as they emerged into daylight, believing themselves to be free from danger. But lo and behold, Dracula stepped forth unscathed by sunlight, a chilling revelation that he had merged with the Venom symbiote.
In the continuation of the episode, the dragon that had disrupted Falcon’s flight earlier, provokes it again and becomes directly involved in the conflict. Fortunately, this fire-breathing creature serves as a distraction, preventing Dracula from consuming a young child. With a burst of its flaming breath, it separates the two adversaries once more. The protector of K’un-Lun employs his signature radiant punch to force Dracula back to the castle.
It’s worth noting that Venom makes just a single appearance in the series “Avengers Assemble”, but the merging of these two villains creates an unforgettable spectacle. You won’t see such a combination in “Venom: The Last Dance” – even though Venom Horse is intriguing, a Dracula-infused symbiote proves to be a more powerful and captivating outcome. If you’re interested, the entire “Avengers Assemble” series, which includes “The Immortal Weapon”, can currently be streamed on Disney+.
