Vero’s Latest Furniture Drop Includes Its First Outdoor Collection

As a seasoned gamer with an eye for design and a deep appreciation for the intersection of art and functionality, I’m always on the lookout for innovative new furniture collections that push the boundaries of what’s possible. The latest offerings from Italian design company Vero have certainly caught my attention.

Italian design brand Vero has unveiled the fifth installment of their furniture collection, featuring fresh designs from Hannes & Fritz, Jamie Wolfond, and Thomas Woltmann.

The Swiss-German duo Hannes & Fritz has introduced Vero’s initial outdoor collection, named “Hongkong.” This line draws design motivation from Hong Kong, more particularly the distinctive appearance of stainless steel front door gates found in numerous old residential structures across the city. The assortment comprises a chair, a stool, a bench, and two tables, all embodying an intriguing fusion of avant-garde audacity and uncomplicated forms.

With regard to indoor design, Jamie Wolfond’s creation, named “Woven,” is showcased through delivery. This intriguing bookshelf system, hailing from Canada, boasts a minimalist yet enigmatic appearance. The inception of this piece stemmed from an accidental misalignment when Wolfond incorrectly cut a joinery piece. As it turned out, flipping the orientation of each connection within the wooden grid produced an object that was as much a puzzle as it was a shelf. According to Wolfond, “We discovered that by arranging these pieces in a specific sequence, we could build this seemingly impossible structure.” Moreover, the contrasting joinery of the shelf results in an intriguing graphic pattern reminiscent of a plain weave, an ancient technique from which it derives its inspiration.

At last, let me add that the collection features the “Wave” series designed by Thomas Woltmann from Copenhagen. This range includes a stool and a bench, both made of solid ash wood. These pieces deviate from traditional, rigid geometrics with their undulating wave-shaped profiles and curves.

All aforementioned pieces are now available via Vero’s official website.
