Verve Adds to Agency’s Leadership Team

As a seasoned gamer who has navigated countless virtual worlds and industries, I can’t help but draw parallels between my gaming adventures and the exciting moves being made at Verve. Jennifer Jones, much like the heroine of a grand RPG, has journeyed through various realms of media – from Disney+ to Condé Nast – honing her skills in dealmaking and legal affairs. Now, she’s joining forces with Verve, ready to conquer new territories and forge alliances that will shape the future of entertainment.

Verve, the literary and talent agency, is adding to its leadership ranks.

On Thursday, it was announced that the LA-based agency has brought on board Jennifer Jones in the roles of both General Counsel and Head of Business Affairs. Additionally, they have elevated partner Liz Parker to the position of Managing Partner.

Jones joins us from Condé Nast, where she served as head of global business affairs for a period of three years. During this time, she spearheaded content deal-making for the publishing conglomerate. Prior to this role, she held the position of VP, Business Affairs at Disney+, where she handled legal matters. Before that, Jones worked on legal issues at Marvel Entertainment and was a lawyer at Munger, Tolles & Olson.

Parker, who recently advanced to the position of managing partner following her promotion to partner last year, now has control over Verve’s daily activities and will guide strategic endeavors. She came on board with the agency in 2018, moving from InkWell Management, to establish Verve’s publishing department. In 2022, she was appointed joint head of Motion Picture Literary.

Parker has been involved in several projects lately, such as a future Chris Farley biography planned by New Line Cinema and the sale of the suspenseful film ‘Sasha’, starring Scarlett Johansson and produced by Greg Berlanti, to Amazon MGM. Furthermore, this agent has shown interest in adapting intellectual properties from Reddit for potential film and television contracts.

“Liz’s contributions have been instrumental to many of our significant victories, and her leadership has propelled some of our most thriving projects,” said co-founders Bryan Besser and Adam Levine of Verve. “Jennifer is a standout in her profession and an ideal match for Verve as we embark on the next stage of our journey.”

“What an exhilarating journey it’s been so far, and I’m thrilled to say we’re only just beginning! I feel incredibly privileged to step into this new position, where I can help broaden Verve’s influence and build upon its remarkable platform. Working with such a gifted team and immersing myself in a culture that truly stands out is an experience I eagerly look forward to.”

Jones commented, “I’ve always been amazed by Verve’s ability to innovate beyond boundaries. Being part of the team during this period of significant change is truly thrilling, and I can’t wait to play a role in our upcoming major achievements.”
