VETEMENTS Wants You To Dupe Its Spring 2025 Collection

As a seasoned fashion enthusiast who has traversed the catwalks of Paris, Milan, and New York, I must say that VETEMENTS’ Spring 2025 runway left me absolutely spellbound! The star-studded lineup and the audacious setting were nothing short of breathtaking. It was like being transported to a parallel universe where fashion meets trash chic, and I couldn’t have loved it more.

The VETEMENTS Spring 2025 runway exhibition was bold and high-profile. Travis Scott kicked off the event; Gigi Hadid, Destroy Lonely, Heidi Klum, Law Roach, among others, walked shortly after him. J Balvin, Normani, and Ice Spice were seated in the front row. Lastly, ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Marcia Cross strutted down the catwalk to close the show. It is evident that designer Guram Gvasalia means business.

The event, named “Time To Clean Up The Mess,” was staged within a partially deserted Parisian shopping mall. Upon entering, visitors were confronted by an enormous heap of vibrant, unused clothing. This jaw-dropping scene served as a backdrop for the setting where Guram’s latest collection exists: “It reflects a future in which consumers no longer crave or can afford endless luxury consumption. Instead, they embrace a do-it-yourself mentality, fashioning distinctive, conceptual items from what is left,” the designer shared in his notes.

The plan was to transform the existing elements of our contemporary world into something fresh by dismantling and rebuilding them. In reality, the collection showcased Guram’s playful twists and unexpected partnerships. DHL’s distinctive red-yellow tape was utilized to fashion a dress around Hadid, while a salacious edition of The Sun newspaper was affixed as a gown; Monster Energy’s energizing logo graced a neon t-shirt, and tags peeked out from various mini dresses, a sarcastic critique of modern consumerism’s superficiality.

In other locations, the designer’s structured formal attire featuring broad shoulders, loose denim pants, heavy leather jackets, and dramatic, dark ensembles adopted rough, unrefined, and incomplete design aesthetics. This was a deliberate decision by Guram, aiming to counteract the excessive production of luxury fashion. In summary, this collection embodied VETEMENTS’ modern muse: an adventurous fashion enthusiast who loves making a statement with daring style choices, often incorporating a DIY flair.

According to Guram’s notes, the real strength of VETEMENTS lies in the sense of camaraderie it fosters – a feeling that one can identify as a VETEMENTS follower without even purchasing a single item. For those who aren’t ready to invest $1,500 USD on a pair of their jeans, the designer wholeheartedly invites you to emulate some of his styles using your existing wardrobe. He emphasizes that this way, you can still be an active participant in the conversation and never feel left out or overlooked.

Regardless of some people labeling it as a Balenciaga imitation (the DHL dress did bear a strong resemblance to the bodycon yellow-tape dress Kim Kardashian wore at Demna’s Fall 2022 show for Balenciaga), Guram intends to create his own unique fashion design template, inspiring others to emulate it.
