Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video: Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri starrer's director Raaj reveals how film is '97% parivark'

As a seasoned movie enthusiast who has witnessed the evolution of Bollywood over the past few decades, I must say that the trailer for Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has piqued my curiosity like no other film recently. The intriguing blend of humor, romance, and a dash of mystery in its promotions is reminiscent of the 90s cinema I grew up watching, which makes me nostalgic and excited all at once.

As a parent who has always valued family values and the importance of maintaining strong bonds within my household, I found the recent trailer for Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video particularly appealing. The film’s marketing as being “97% parivarik” (family-oriented) resonated with me deeply, as it reflects my personal belief that a family-friendly environment is crucial in shaping the moral and ethical values of children.

In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Raaj Shaandilyaa, the writer-director of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, elaborated on the movie’s claim that it represents 97% of families. He clarified that this percentage holds significance in two aspects. First, the story unfolds in the year 1997. Second, approximately 2.5-3% of the film features a wedding song between the lead characters, making the movie ‘very family-oriented’.

He noted that while it is a bed scene, it is also a ‘good scene’. He skillfully played with the words ‘bad’ and ‘bed,’ adding a layer of confusion and intrigue for the audience.

Raaj shared that it wasn’t difficult to secure Daler Mehndi for a remake of his classic track “Na Na Na Na Re,” as the song was first released in 1997, which happens to be the same year the movie is set and aligns perfectly with the climax. When he asked Daler Mehndi for permission, not only did he grant the rights, but he also agreed to appear in the film.

The director of the Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video disclosed that they captured footage for three consecutive nights on the icy shores of the River Ganga, braving the cold. Despite being under the weather, Daler Mehndi showed remarkable dedication to the project and performed flawlessly without any grumbles, pouring his entire effort into it.

Additionally, he divulged his strategy for choosing Shehnaaz Gill for the film’s dance number. He sought an actress who could embody both innocence and glamour. Finding her suitable, he approached Shehnaaz. Though thrilled, she was also apprehensive given the magnitude of the song. Yet, he persisted in casting her as he felt she would inject a new energy into the unique dance routine. Moreover, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the monotony of frequently seeing the same artists in songs.
