She has unequivocally stated that she holds no involvement in the production or dissemination of the altered content, emphasizing that “it does not represent my opinions or creative endeavors.
As a committed enthusiast, I want to share an important update that recently caught my attention. Just like many of you, I follow Vidya Balan on Instagram, and I was moved by the message she posted there. She brought our attention to a fake video circulating about her, which she clearly stated wasn’t authentic. To heighten our awareness, she also shared this deepfake clip alongside her statement. Let’s stay vigilant and supportive in combatting such misinformation together.
She stated, “Several videos showing me have been shared across social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp. But let me make it clear, these videos are actually AI-created and fake.

Balan stated, “I wasn’t part of making or spreading these videos, and their content isn’t endorsed by me. The claims in the videos are not a representation of my opinions or work. It’s crucial to fact-check information before sharing it, and be mindful of potentially misleading AI-generated content.” She also used the hashtags #FakeAlert and #StayAware in her post as a warning.
Notably, a number of popular Indian figures such as Rashmika Mandanna, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Sachin Tendulkar have unfortunately found themselves in situations where they were featured in deepfake videos.
In a recent turn of events, Vidya made an appearance in the romantic comedy titled “Two Loves and Two”, which featured her acting alongside Pratik Gandhi. This production was helmed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta, and it also included Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy as part of its star-studded cast.
The story explores the intricacies of contemporary relationships, focusing on a pair on the brink of divorce who engage in outside relationships. However, as they ready themselves to confess and part ways, unexpected events alter their destinies. Despite receiving good critiques, the film had difficulty attracting audiences at the box office.
