As an ardent follower of Vikrant Massey‘s career and life journey, I am constantly astounded by his resilience and determination. His recent conversation with Barkha Dutt on Mojo Story has given me a deeper insight into the man behind the actor.
Vikrant Massey has been firmly establishing himself as a reliable actor by taking on significant roles written by authors. Currently, he is focusing on promoting his upcoming movie, The Sabarmati Report. Notably, in a recent discussion, he reminisced about a troubling incident at his father’s workplace that inspired him to begin working when he was seventeen years old.
On Barkha Dutt’s YouTube show, Mojo Story, Vikrant Massey shared that growing up, it was difficult for his family of four, including him, due to his father’s personal struggles. He explained that his father originated from a prosperous and successful family, but all that wealth and status disappeared because of a family dispute. Describing it as a typical tale from the 1970s, the actor stated that, despite the setbacks, his father wasn’t able to restore things exactly as he wished, but he did whatever he could given the circumstances.
As a child, I came to understand the value and influence that wealth holds in our lives. Unlike my elder brother, I made a conscious decision not to compromise on my dreams or aspirations. This realization struck me early, during my teenage years, when I found myself standing in my father’s office, needing funds urgently. It was this experience that ignited within me the desire to accumulate wealth and financial stability.
12th Fail’s actor expressed his anticipation for a polished desk and a welcoming ambiance, only to find his father’s table laden with an ashtray. Overwhelmed by this unexpected scene, the actor revealed that he couldn’t help but look at his father’s state and gaze into his eyes.
He declared that the time had come for a change in roles, and as he pondered his other reasons for seeking wealth, he expressed, “I was tired of donning tattered garments, even footwear. Clothes weren’t so troubling, but having to wear another person’s shoes was unbearable. No matter how hard I cleaned them, they retained the odor of the previous owner.
He also mentioned that he often lacked funds for purchasing shoes, but eventually chose to spend Rs 100 on a new T-shirt instead since it was something fresh.
Under the guidance of director Dheeraj Sarna, the upcoming film “The Sabarmati Report” stars Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra in prominent roles. This engaging production is set to hit the big screen on November 15, 2024.
