Vipp Opens Mexican-Danish Guesthouse in Todos Santos

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for immersive experiences and unique architectural marvels, I must admit that Vipp Todos Santos has piqued my interest like no other. Having traversed countless virtual worlds, I’ve always yearned to step into a real-life structure that seamlessly blends cultures and design aesthetics – and this gem by the Pacific Ocean appears to be just that!

The Danish industrial design group, Vipp, has introduced its tenth guest house project – a stunning architectural marvel that seamlessly combines Mexican and Danish design aesthetics, nestled by the Pacific Ocean, known as Vipp Todos Santos.

Located in Mexico, the Vipp guesthouse – their first outside Europe – was opened a decade after the company debuted its initial guesthouse, known as the Vipp Shelter, situated at Lake Immeln in Sweden. The Todos Santos structure offers 350 square meters of living space, including a main house, two connected guest houses, five bedrooms, a covered veranda, an outdoor pool on the rooftop, and numerous terraces.

As I stepped into my humble abode, crafted from local materials, I could feel the earthy warmth radiating through its thick, densely packed walls. These walls, a testament to nature’s own insulation, kept the chill at bay during the night and ensured a refreshing coolness during the day. The raw, untouched walls gave the interior and exterior a unique, organic charm, punctuated only by the window frames that framed breathtaking views of the vast ocean and the majestic Cardones beyond.

Architect Pablo Pérez Palacios stated, “Todos Santos possesses a distinctive mix of terrains, history, and cultural influences.” Our aim was to preserve these traditional elements as we developed our own architectural dialect – a style that seamlessly blends with the natural environment around it.

Pérez Palacios teamed up with Sofie Christensen Egelund (one of the co-owners of Vipp), as well as Copenhagen interior designer Julie Cloos Mølsgaard, to develop custom furniture and unique design elements for the property. Notable features include a spacious living area equipped with the latest Vipp V3 kitchen crafted from anodized aluminum, and a custom-made swivel chair (fabricated using Pierre Frey jacquard fabric) designed exclusively for the Todos Santos residence.

Reservations for Vipp Todos Santos are now available! Each night will cost you $2,500 USD. Check out the property pictures provided above.
