Whether you consider contemporary hits like Haikyuu or timeless classics such as Attack No. 1, volleyball often shares the spotlight with martial arts and fantasy genres in anime and manga. VolleyBall King strives to mirror this dynamic and somewhat superhuman portrayal of the sport.

Absolutely, VolleyBall King is heavily inspired by sports anime and manga. However, when it comes to modern, easy-to-play versions of volleyball in animation, I can’t think of many other titles aside from it. So, despite the occasional over-the-top acrobatics and powerful spikes that some might find tacky, it’s definitely worth watching for its entertaining approach to volleyball.
