Voxile is a new game that will try to do what Minecraft doesn’t: add guns.
At first glance, it may appear as just another Minecraft-style game, but this one stands out due to its high-quality production. Players have the freedom to design whatever they imagine, battle creatures with a voxel-like visual style, and the graphics are quite appealing. Additionally, there seems to be an abundance of content to explore, which significantly enhances its value.
In addition to its similarities to Minecraft in terms of gameplay, Voxile is also marketed as a “story-driven” crafting game by IGN’s trailer. Since Minecraft lacks a narrative, this could cater to those who prefer games with a conclusion. Not everyone enjoys playing games indefinitely, so incorporating a story may attract another segment of players who are drawn to more structured gaming experiences.
The main topic under discussion is the inclusion of firearms. Voxile appears to be borrowing certain elements from Palworld, with the aim of making the game unique and engaging by integrating guns. However, whether the addition of guns sets this voxel-based title apart remains to be seen. Nonetheless, it seems enjoyable to blast these pixelated adversaries with a variety of firearms.
For those players who find shooting weapons uninteresting, they can opt for close-combat weapons or, let’s face it, Minecraft. Since Minecraft is primarily designed for young audiences, its developers at Mojang are cautious about including violent content. While you can kill creatures in the game with a sword, parents seem to be less concerned with that weapon compared to other firearms.
Time alone will reveal whether Voxile manages to carve out a dedicated fanbase similar to Palworld, or if it ends up among the numerous Minecraft imitations. However, the elements we’ve seen so far are quite compelling, and the narrative focus of this game may resonate with fans who enjoy titles reminiscent of Dragon Quest Builders.
Currently, there’s no set release date for Voxile as of now. But, fans have the opportunity to give it a spin through a free demo available on Steam. In the near future, eager players can also check it out during its Early Access phase.
