This week saw the release of Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan‘s first film, Nadaaniyan, alongside Khushi Kapoor. One standout aspect of the movie was Saif showcasing his well-sculpted and muscular body. Lately, it has been revealed by Ibrahim’s sports nutritionist and integrative health coach, Nicole Linhares Kedia, what efforts were made to achieve that physique.
During an interview with Mid-day, Kedia acknowledged that Ibrahim Ali Khan is naturally gifted in terms of his physical appearance. Yet, she pointed out that various aspects need to be taken into account when overseeing his diet, given that he was gearing up for three movies at the time. She emphasized that while certain films necessitated him to showcase a flawlessly sculpted body, others, such as one based on a marathon runner, had fewer physical demands.
The sports nutritionist noted that, in spite of numerous food-related distractions, the actor from Nadaaniyan showed remarkable discipline in sticking to the dietary plan. Interestingly, she shared that he would occasionally send pictures of his meals as a way to confirm adherence to the portion sizes. Moreover, she disclosed that the diet plan was specifically tailored to suit Iggy’s taste preferences.
As per Kedia’s explanation, Ibrahim, who enjoys dishes like bhurji, parathas, wraps, and shawarmas, tends to consume a large amount of red meat in order to fulfill his protein needs. This suggests that Ibrahim may not have a strict control over his macronutrients.
She mentioned that we focused on incorporating antioxidants, fiber, fennel seeds, and other blood sugar-controlling components into his diet. Since he loves biryani, we allowed him to eat it with brown rice or quinoa instead of white. Yet, there was a significant reduction in the oil content, she explained.
The health coach emphasized focusing on minor adjustments with significant impact. She disclosed that they focused on regulating the actor’s internal body clock (circadian rhythm). They also found that Ibrahim often trained without eating, and suggested incorporating a pre-workout routine given his intense training schedules.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve found incorporating a few key habits into my pre- and post-workout routines have made a noticeable difference in my performance and overall health. Before hitting the gym, I opt for a snack like a banana with mixed seeds to give me an energy boost, followed by water infused with electrolytes during my workout sessions. Within 90 minutes of wrapping up my exercise routine, I make sure to consume protein to aid in muscle recovery. Though I’m not gluten intolerant, I’ve decided to follow a gluten-free diet as I’ve discovered that millets offer a more nutritious profile compared to other grains.
