Over the weekend, it’s clear that Marvel Studios continues to be a money-making powerhouse in their upcoming 2025 movie lineup. This timing couldn’t be more ideal, as the President’s Day holiday boosted the box office earnings for Captain America: Brave New World, bringing joy to its cast and crew. Moreover, as we applaud Anthony Mackie‘s massive cinematic debut as Captain America, let’s also acknowledge his signature wit on set, shared with fellow comedian and 2025 Oscar nominee Sebastian Stan. I truly enjoy watching that video, as it brings back fond memories of the hilarious friendship between those cherished characters. Although the Marvel Cinematic Universe has led Sam Wilson and James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes down different paths in life, they had a significant conversation in the latest movie. In the futuristic setting of Brave New World, the political candidate and friend to Steve Rogers made a meaningful appearance. During this scene, Barnes underlined why Sam Wilson was an ideal choice for the new Captain.

This scene seemed to be setting the stage for the upcoming Marvel film “Thunderbolts,” but I found it particularly enjoyable because it reinforced the strong moral foundation that this series of standalone movies has been built upon. Seeing Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie’s antics on the set of “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” only strengthened my belief in their friendship, which clearly plays a significant role in shaping these pivotal moments.

I’m unsure about the future directions for Mackie or Stan’s Marvel characters following Captain America 4. However, what I can confirm is that I’m eager to witness Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes joining forces once again in a new storyline of political intrigue, as this would cater to my personal preference for such themes in Marvel movies.

Simultaneously, I’d add that Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres is certainly not a second choice. The series Brave New World demonstrates the impressive dynamics between the new Falcon and Cap quite effectively, making me hesitant to imagine them as anything but a team. In fact, it seems like an exciting prospect to expand the next solo Captain America film into a three-person venture (given the lingering plotline involving Sharon Carter). This setup could even lead to more entertaining bloopers similar to those shown in the clip above.

There’s plenty of time to prepare for tomorrow’s tales, but for now, you can experience “Brave New World” on stage at a theater close by. Once you have witnessed it, you’ll be able to ponder significant questions such as what the conclusion of “Captain America 4” might imply for the future of the series? Or will we receive a funny blooper reel similar to the one displayed above when it is released on home media?
