The eagerly awaited third season of the popular Prime Video series “Reacher” is nearly here, and to build up anticipation, a fresh clip has been unveiled featuring our favorite ex-military police officer getting into a scrap with someone even more imposing! The character is played by Alan Ritchson, who stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 235 pounds. It’s challenging to conceive of anyone matching the size of Jack Reacher, but season 3 has managed it by introducing bodybuilder Olivier Richters, standing at a towering 7 feet 2 inches and tipping the scales at 352 pounds. He portrays Paulie, a massive guard working for Anthony Michael Hall’s character, Zachary Beck.
In this fresh clip from Discussing Film (shown below), we see Reacher and Paulie having a chat in a home gym about their bench press weights. Reacher dismisses the idea that heavier weights equate to strength, and when prodded by Paulie, he accepts a challenge for a game of Bavarian arm wrestling. As predicted, things escalate quickly as the main character grips Paulie’s hand and urges him to exert maximum force towards his face while Reacher resists pulling it downwards. This amusing scene culminates in a full-blown fight between the two, serving as a reminder of the show’s knack for injecting humor effortlessly.
As a dedicated movie enthusiast, I can’t help but be astounded by the level of dedication poured into creating the action sequences for ‘Reacher’ compared to any other project I’ve worked on, like Paulie. Now, I wouldn’t dare say we’re gunning for an Oscar in the fight scene category, but what I can promise is a spectacle that will leave you breathless.
While ‘Reacher’ might not have bagged any awards yet (I mean Emmy, not Oscar), it has certainly won over the hearts of both fans and critics. The first season boasts an impressive 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with Season 2 surpassing that at a staggering 98%. Will Season 3 continue this streak of excellence? Only time will tell, as we eagerly await its release in February.
Fans React to Reacher vs. Paulie
I can’t wait to see how Reacher performs when facing someone larger than himself, as he has usually been the larger opponent in previous fights. That’s what @ALBERTOMWANALDO expressed, and we share the same sentiment.
If Paulie is 200 pounds heavier than Reacher, their fight will likely be extremely intense. I can hardly wait to see how Reacher handles such a challenge.
