As a dedicated Star Wars fan with over three decades of fandom under my belt, I must say that the latest trailer for the upcoming series “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” has me absolutely buzzing! The glimpse into suburban life before the kids embark on their intergalactic adventure had me reminiscing about my own childhood dreams of stargazing and space exploration. The action sequences hint at a thrilling ride, and Jod’s mysterious Force-wielding abilities have me intrigued. I can hardly wait until December 3 when this series drops on Disney+!
As Star Wars temporarily steps back from its peak season following the conclusion of Star Wars: The Acolyte last month, a new live action series titled Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is on the horizon, having been announced at the end of July. Until now, specifics about the Jude Law-led show have been scarce; however, excitement has grown as the first trailer for this forthcoming series was revealed during D23.
In just about two minutes, the quick trailer unfolds, first offering glimpses of suburban existence before our protagonist, Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), voices his excitement for space exploration. The story then takes a turn as Wim and three other children encounter perils beyond their expectations, hinting at the chaos ahead through thrilling action scenes. Towards the end, Jod (Jude Law) appears, suggesting he has some sort of mystical power by effortlessly grabbing a crucial item with what seems like telekinesis. This leaves Wim contemplating whether Jod might be a Jedi.
“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” is all set to make its debut exclusively on Disney+ on December 3, with a two-episode series premiere kicking off the story. Meanwhile, other upcoming “Star Wars” releases that were discussed at D23 include the movie “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” scheduled for release on May 22, 2026. The second season of “Andor” is planned to premiere on Disney+ in 2025, while “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy” will be available on September 13, 2023, also exclusively on Disney+.
