Summary

  • Gachiakuta‘s main trailer previews a dark fantasy shonen anime by Studio Bones, adapted from Kei Urana’s manga
  • It’s set to premiere July 6, 2025, on Crunchyroll with a global “World Takeover” campaign

The primary teaser for the anime “Gachiakuta” has been revealed, providing a tantalizing sneak peek into the forthcoming dark fantasy shonen series. This anime is brought to you by Studio Bones, renowned for its dynamic action animation showcased in “My Hero Academia”, “Full Metal Alchemist”, and “Mob Psycho 100”. The storyline is based on Kei Urana’s manga, which first appeared in “Weekly Shonen Jump” in 2022, and centers around Rudo, a boy from the slums of a floating city. Wrongfully accused of murder, Rudo was thrown into the abyss beneath, a desolate land teeming with grotesque creatures. With its raw urban design, graffiti-inspired artwork, and high-octane fight scenes, the trailer promises an adrenaline-pumping and emotionally resonant tale.

The trailer amplifies the grim societal messages within the manga, vividly portraying Rudo’s intense fight for existence in this perilous void. It demonstrates his interactions with the Cleaners, a unique squad assigned to eradicate the grotesque “trash monsters” that inhabit this dangerous landscape. The action-packed scenes are particularly noteworthy, boasting smooth animation and engaging choreography that emphasize the anime’s intense confrontations and raw emotional intensity.

Furthermore, the trailer presents some significant new characters such as Rudo’s mentor Regto, and Jabber, a powerful Raider who uses poisonous rings. At the same time, the anime’s intro theme, “HUGs” by Paledusk, and outro theme, “TOMOSHIBI” by DUSTCELL, add to its rough, rebellious atmosphere.

Slated for release on July 6, 2025, Gachiakuta will be available only on Crunchyroll. To celebrate its upcoming debut, Crunchyroll has initiated the “Gachiakuta World Conquest” campaign, a collaboration with Kodansha, Avex, and Bones. This initiative features advance screenings in 15 countries, Gachiakuta-themed exhibits, and engaging fan activities like a graffiti website where fans can design custom tags based on the anime’s visual style. For now, don’t forget to watch the latest trailer above.
