As a seasoned watch collector with a penchant for both history and modernity, I must say, the TAG Heuer Carrera Tourbillon by Watches of Switzerland is nothing short of a masterpiece. With my decades-long experience in horology, I’ve seen countless timepieces, but this one stands out like a beacon on a racetrack.
To mark its centennial milestone, luxury watch retailer Watches of Switzerland unveils an exclusive Carrera Tourbillon in collaboration with TAG Heuer.
By seamlessly combining traditional aesthetics and contemporary technology, this extraordinary timepiece pays tribute to racing history through its reverse panda dial with eye-catching design. Housed within a 42mm stainless steel casing, the watch boasts a sleek black dial that harmonizes beautifully with its alligator strap. The glossy white subcounters and bezel offer a striking contrast against the black background, while the central seconds hand and outer flange are vividly painted in red.
Instead of the position typically occupied by the 6 o’clock hour-hand, there’s a tourbillon cage showcasing TAG Heuer’s impressive technical abilities. This watch is driven by the Heuer 02 – TH20-09 movement, equipped with a bidirectional automatic winding system, ensuring it can run for 80 hours uninterrupted. The transparent back case provides a glimpse into the inner workings of the watch, including its shield-shaped rotor. Inscriptions around the face confirm this timepiece’s exclusivity from Watches of Switzerland and its limited availability – only 10 pieces were made.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Tourbillon retails for approximately $28,074 USD and can be found exclusively as one of ten pieces at Watches of Switzerland.
