Weak Hero Class 2: 7 Characters Ranked Worst to Best

In “Weak Hero Class 2,” there are many outstanding characters, however, some stand out more than others. As depicted in the webtoon created by Seopass and Kim Jin-seok, “Weak Hero Class 2” features Park Jin-hoon returning as Yeon Si-eun, alongside Ryeo Un, Lee Min-jae, and Choi Min-yeong. Originally broadcast on the Korean streaming platform Wavve, it was later added to Netflix in anticipation of season 2. The second season of this K-drama focusing on teenage years follows Si-eun’s journey after he switched schools to Eujang High School.

In the aftermath of Weak Hero Class 1, where Su-ho fell into a coma, Beom-seok relocated to the Philippines, and Si-eun continued his education at a new high school with his mother, fresh faces emerged in Class 2. Although some characters share resemblances with those from Class 1, each possesses unique identities and characteristics. Unlike its predecessor, Weak Hero Class 2 featured an increased emphasis on action sequences, and the actors skillfully blended intense actions with powerful emotions in this K-drama.

7. Choi Hyo-Man

Played By Yu Su-Bin

Choi Hyo-man first encountered “Weak Hero” during the end credits of “Class 1”. At first, Hyo-man attempted to harass Si-eun, but when his efforts failed, he ceased targeting her and instead focused on tormenting other students. His ultimate aspiration was to join the Union, so he compelled others to steal mobile phones from fellow students at school to generate funds for Mr. Choi, the head of the gang.

Initially portrayed as a villain, Hyo-man surprisingly took a heroic stance at the end of “Weak Hero Class 2”. In the final battle, he stood with his fellow students to oppose Baek-jin, whom he had previously idolized, in order to keep Eujang from joining the Union. Despite his shallow character and tendencies towards cruelty, Hyo-man proves entertaining and is capable of admitting defeat when he realizes he cannot prevail.

6. Geum Seong-Je

Played By Lee Jun-Young

At Ganghak High School’s Union, Baek-jin’s right-hand man is Seong-je. While he assists in the leadership of the Union under Baek-jin, Seong-je has a malevolent side that finds joy in conflicts and mistreating others. After Baek-jin goes missing, Seong-je hesitates to step up as the next Union leader because it would require him to report to Mr. Choi, which isn’t ideal for someone who likes to act independently.

It’s admirable about Seong-je that he authentically is himself without pretending to be someone else. When Si-eun attempts to win him over, Seong-je appears to comply, but deep down, he feels he wasn’t designed to play the role of a hero. He acknowledges that doing good deeds seems tedious to him and prefers living life to its fullest. Given these qualities, Seong-je could be an excellent candidate for the next antagonist in Class 3.

5. Na Baek-Jin

Played By Bae Na-Ra

At first glance in “Weak Hero Class 2”, it appears that Seong-je plays the role of the antagonist in the K-drama, which indeed seems to be the case. However, behind the scenes, it’s Na Baek-jin who holds the reins. This leader of the Union is power-hungry and wealth-obsessed. He governs his organization with an iron grip and is not fond of challenges to his authority. While he’s in control, Baek-jin tends to avoid getting his hands dirty and instead concentrates on ensuring that his boss receives a good return on investment and maintaining high academic grades.

Despite being harsh, intimidating, and generally disliked, Baek-jin harbored a sensitive side. His childhood friend, Park Hu-min, taught him combat skills as Baek-jin had been bullied due to his upbringing. Although he committed despicable acts, Baek-jin yearned for Hu-min’s friendship once more. Despite his wealth and power, Baek-jin felt a profound loneliness that added depth to the characters in Class 2.

4. Go Hyun-Tak

Played By Lee Min-Jae

In the vein of many action Korean dramas, Weak Hero Class 2 introduces a character proficient in combat – Go Hyun-tak, also known as Gotak. Remarkably, Gotak is among the few individuals who dare confront Hyo-min. Initially, he and Si-eun have a rocky relationship, but they manage to reconcile once they resolve their conflicts.

Although Gotak may appear hard-headed and unwilling to apologize, there’s a kind soul hidden beneath his tough exterior. He takes on the role of protector whenever given the opportunity, much like Su-ho does. This might be the reason why Si-eun allowed him close.

3. Seo Jun-Tae

Played By Choi Min-Yeong

Initially, Seo Jun-tae was forced by Choi Hyo-min to steal phones from fellow students, including Si-eun’s phone. However, when confronted with the task of stealing from Si-eun, Jun-tae found he could no longer comply due to his reluctance. But when pressured by Hyo-min, he was compelled to do so. Eventually, after taking Si-eun’s phone, Jun-tae mustered the courage to confront his bullies. He returned everything he had stolen from his classmates and made amends by offering sincere apologies. In other words, after stealing Si-eun’s phone, Seo Jun-tae found the strength to challenge his tormentors.

At first glance, Jun-tae may appear to be weak, yet his true strength resides within his deep emotional intelligence rather than physical power. When Jun-tae is mistaken, he takes significant steps to set things right, demonstrating loyalty and compassion. While he often loses in physical confrontations, he’s prepared to fight when necessary. Similar to Si-eun, Jun-tae tends to be reserved, but he has a playful side that emerges around his friends. His laid-back demeanor complemented Si-eun’s intensity and harmonized with Gotak and Baku’s boisterousness.

2. Park Hu-Min

Played By Ryeo Un

In numerous aspects, Park Hu-min and Su-ho share commonalities. They both exhibit a playful side within their circle, displaying exceptional fighting skills while maintaining a lighthearted approach to life. Yet beneath this sunny exterior, Hu-min harbors a significant amount of personal struggles. His father battles alcoholism, and he himself endures financial hardships. Despite these challenging circumstances, Hu-min remains dedicated to assisting others.

Hu-min, often called Baku by his friends, serves as Eujang’s guardian. Due to him, Eujang was the unique school that didn’t belong to the Union, which earned him immense respect from his classmates and fellow students. Baku was always ready to step in and take risks for the safety of his loved ones. His character and relationship with Hyun-tak complemented the reserved nature of Jun-tae and Si-eun perfectly.

1. Yeon Si-Eun

Played By Park Ji-Hoon

In the thriller K-drama Weak Hero Class 1 and Class 2, there isn’t a significant change in the character of Si-eun. As terrifying as ever, Si-eun is portrayed more introspective due to the events involving Beom-seok and Su-ho. At first, Si-eun is hesitant to engage in anything unrelated to him. However, a turning point comes when Hyo-man brutally attacks Jun-tae. The two eventually become friends, but it’s not until Hu-min and Hyun-tak join their group that Si-eun starts to open up more.

One standout trait of Si-eun is his unwavering commitment to standing up for those who are vulnerable, ensuring that bullies don’t take advantage of the weak. Despite striving to focus on his own affairs, he finds it difficult to witness harm coming to Jun-tae or anyone else. Brave, loyal, and selfless, Si-eun is prepared to go to great lengths to shield his friends from harm. It was previously established in Class 1 that Si-eun could defend himself against bullies, but Class 2: The Compassionate Warrior demonstrated that he could remain a supportive friend despite the hardships he faced at his previous school.
