In the second season of “Wednesday,” due out soon, we see a new trailer and press release hinting at several villainous characters causing chaos around Nevermore Academy as Wednesday resumes her studies there. The upcoming episodes of this Netflix series, known for its blend of coming-of-age, horror, and comedy, will once again feature Jenna Ortega as the titular character. In this new season, Wednesday will tackle another supernatural mystery that could be connected to her family.
The second season is anticipated to delve into the consequences of the first season’s finale, which unmasked Marilyn Thornhill as the major villain masterminding the sinister events in Nevermore. It also aims to reveal the identity of the mysterious stalker who was hinted at in the ending of the previous season.
It seems that Wednesday’s significant part in overcoming Thornhill during Season 1 has placed her under scrutiny as we move into Season 2. In addition to lurking dangers, the main character will grapple with the reality of her family arriving at Nevermore, leading to numerous conflicts and chaos for Wednesday to manage. Furthermore, this development will boost the involvement of the Addams family in Wednesday Season 2, casting them in more prominent roles.
3 Major Antagonists in Wednesday Season 2
Tyler Galpin (aka the Hyde)
In the first season, it became clear that character Tyler Galpin (played by Hunter Doohan) had been hiding the truth: he was actually the monstrous being called Hyde. This creature could be controlled via hypnosis or awakened through a traumatic experience. The main antagonist of Season 1, Marilyn Thornhill, exploited Tyler for her malicious intentions to bring about Nevermore Academy’s destruction from within. However, Wednesday and her allies thwarted her scheme, leading to Tyler being confined in a psychiatric institution at the conclusion of Season 1.
In contrast, the trailer for Season 2 of “Wednesday” has made it official that fans’ suspicions about Tyler’s future were correct – he will return in upcoming episodes to seek his revenge against Wednesday and her companions. A scene showing Tyler imprisoned at Willow Hill, with Wednesday paying him a visit, hints that our title character may turn to him for clues about the mystery that could unfold in Season 2.
Despite Hyde’s monstrous character, it seems inevitable that Tyler will eventually break free from the facility and threaten Nevermore once more, as we learned during the Season 1 finale that he can effortlessly transform into Hyde whenever he wishes. It appears that a confrontation between Wednesday and Tyler is imminent in Season 2.
The Kansas City Scalper
Netflix’s TUDUM 2025 unveiled the initial six minutes of Wednesday‘s second season, introducing Haley Joel Osment’s character, Kansas City Scalper, as a new antagonist. The sneak peek revealed that Wednesday has had a long-standing fascination with this serial killer due to his fame for being America’s Most Elusive Serial Killer.
In a twist of events during the first few minutes of Season 2, the antagonist known as The Kansas City Scalper (whose true identity is Chet) – a menacing figure with an unusual fascination for dolls and hair, and capable of kidnapping people like Wednesday – was outwitted by Wednesday. With the assistance of her companion Thing, she managed to outsmart him. The upcoming season promises a tense confrontation between these two characters in the early scenes of the second season.
Judi
In the second season of the show called “Wednesday,” Heather Matarazzo is added to the cast of 25 principal characters, taking on the role of a character named Judi for the series’ continuation.
Judi serves as Dr. Fairburn’s (Thandiwe Newton) executive assistant at Willow Hill, which is where Tyler is being kept captive. According to TUDUM’s character description for Judi, she quickly forms a negative opinion of Wednesday, hinting that she may take on an opposing role against the main character. It’s possible that Judi could be instrumental in releasing Tyler from the facility and assisting him in his quest for revenge against Wednesday.
Bonus: Steve Buscemi’s Principal Dort
One intriguing addition to Wednesday Season 2 is Steve Buscemi portraying Principal Dorian, stepping into the role vacated by the deceased principal, Larissa Weems.
In her role as head of Nevermore Academy, Principal Dort places greater emphasis on supporting the Outcasts rather than the Normies. Yet, this focus may stir up tension within Nevermore, as some students hold allegiance towards the Normies.
In a possible scenario, it might escalate into a conflict with her on Wednesday, much like the verbal skirmish she had with Principal Weems during the first season, given her fiercely independent personality.
Bonus: Sheriff Donovan Galpin
Following his stint as the chief sheriff during Season 1 on Wednesday, former sheriff Donovan Galpin was let go due to the revelation that his son, Tyler, was actually the sinister character known as Hyde. The new arrival, Ritchie Santiago, steps into the role previously held by Galpin after agreeing to work alongside Wednesday and takes over his position.
In the second season, his tragic loss of both his son and his career because of Wednesday might lead him towards becoming more villainous. This could provide an opportunity for Tyler to seek vengeance against the title character from the Addams Family.
