Wednesday Season 2: The Suffering Ends

Following a considerable delay, Netflix hints that the media tour for Season 2 is imminent. The show initially debuted in November 2022, and we’ve patiently waited for the arrival of Season 2.

There’s no denying the show’s triumph. Modeled after Charles Addams’ famous creation, the spinoff series titled “Wednesday” delves into the life of Wednesday Addams at Nevermore Academy, an unusual boarding school for kids with peculiar supernatural abilities. Ever since its launch in November 2022, “Wednesday” has been holding the top spot on Netflix’s Most Watched Shows of all time, boasting 252.1 million views and a staggering 1.7 billion hours viewed. To alleviate fans’ anticipation, the creators are now unveiling a fresh poster and announcing the release date for the first teaser.

The poster depicts Jenna Ortega in the leading role, accompanied by Thing (Victor Dorobantu) perched on her shoulder. In this scene, she is bound to a chair, with tears streaming down her face, traced by mascara streaks. Her signature hairstyle, consisting of two braids, and her usual attire, which includes a dark dress featuring a Peter Pan collar, are both prominently displayed.

The subtitle under the poster says, “The wait has been agonizing.” Netflix account for X announced in the caption, “Torment is over. Madness commences.” They also hinted that the first trailer will be released tomorrow, April 23rd, which coincidentally falls on a Wednesday.

So far, information about the upcoming season is limited. Nevertheless, the show’s creators, Al Gough and Miles Millar, have hinted at a focus on horror and a shift away from uncharacteristic storylines. In the first season, Wednesday was involved in a romantic triangle with Tyler Galpin (played by Hunter Doohan) and Xavier Thorpe (Percy Hynes White). However, Percy Hynes White will not return for Season 2 due to sexual assault allegations, but the show is expected to continue without him.

This season, we find Wednesday’s path taking a deeper and intricate turn as she maneuvers through familial ties, friendships, fresh enigmas, and recurring enemies. This sets her on an unavoidable course for another term at Nevermore, as revealed by the creators.

Who Stars in Wednesday Season 2?

In the upcoming season, Jenna Ortega will once again embody the main character. Alongside her, you’ll see a host of beloved characters from Season 1, such as her roommate Enid Sinclair, portrayed by Emma Myers, Bianca Barclay, played by Joy Sunday, and key family members like Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (Luis Guzmán). Additionally, Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams), Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Deputy Ritchie Santiago), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene), and Georgie Farmer (Ajax) will also be back.

In addition to the show, several fresh faces will be showcased alongside Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor.
