Embracing diversity makes us stronger, and Grammy-winning artist Alicia Keys beautifully expressed this when she said, “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are not threats, they’re precious gifts.
At this year’s Grammy Awards on Sunday, the artist who sings “Fallin'” was given the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. Despite a decrease of 9% in viewership compared to last year, the broadcast maintained a forward-thinking message throughout its duration.

Keys stepped into the dispute, vigorously advocating for Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI), as President Donald Trump’s executive orders attempted to significantly limit or undermine the policy.
Keys emphasized that now isn’t the moment for silencing various perspectives. We’ve witnessed on this platform individuals with diverse backgrounds and unique viewpoints, and it significantly enhances the dynamics.
To which we ask, “what diversity is she talking about?”
In a broader sense, and particularly regarding the Grammy Awards each year, there seems to be a limited range of perspectives or ideas within the music industry.
Just one example (although there are many).
How many Grammy artists have expressed opposition to Hamas, or drawn attention to the continued captivity of American and Israeli hostages by this terrorist organization?
None. Of course.
Identify the musicians who advocated for Laken Riley and other Americans who lost their lives due to illegal immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border during the tenure of former President Joe Biden.
None. Of course.
Did any musician lash out at the Biden administration for its censorious ways?
Of course not. Why not?
The Grammys could benefit from more variety in terms of intellectual perspectives. While it was impressive to see individuals from various countries represented, it might be worth considering a wider range of ideas and viewpoints within the awards ceremony.
1) Who or what has disappeared? Individuals whose perspectives did not align with a clean, forward-thinking mold, and often, these individuals felt compelled to conceal their views to preserve their professional status.
A similar problem plagued the recent Sundance Film Festival.
“That decline is reflected in the relative desert of film sales at independent film festivals like this year’s Sundance and the ever-shrinking arthouse box office.” @sharonwaxman
Ecosystem disruption…Low Sales. No Standouts. Slow Sundance. https://t.co/j4n2Cp55bi?

This year’s event fell flat across the board. Sales were disappointing and popular titles were scarce. The only hats spotted were worn by impromptu dance groups, not celebrities eager for another confrontation with President Trump.
And, once again, diversity of thought was in short supply.
There are no plans from Daily Wire to disrupt the festivities. Neither Angel Studios nor The Blaze, which create art beyond the conventional mainstream, have anything scheduled at this time.
Artists with similar perspectives, often singing from the same ‘progressive choirbook’. Little room for debate or unconventional viewpoints.
No buzz.
Had either The Grammys or Sundance embraced true diversity they might have drawn a larger crowd.
