In a humorous twist, the famed actor Aamir Khan experienced the struggle of role-swapping firsthand while filming Dhoom 3. Amidst the set, he inadvertently adopted PK’s Bhojpuri accent, leaving everyone on set, including director Vijay Krishna Acharya (or Victor, as Aamir affectionately calls him), perplexed.
In an interview, Aamir Khan reminisced about an amusing mishap that occurred due to the scheduling conflicts between two movies. He explained that just after completing a grueling 45-day shoot for PK, engrossed in portraying a character who spoke Bhojpuri, he immediately jetted off to Switzerland to film the finale of Dhoom 3. In this critical scene, his character, Samar, was supposed to exclaim, “We don’t have time, let’s go,” but due to exhaustion, he accidentally blurted out the Bhojpuri dialogue instead.
When Aamir was asked to say his lines again for the fourth time, he was determined not to make the same mistake twice. He focused and listened carefully to Victor’s instructions, and when he said “Action!”, Aamir confidently delivered the correct line in English: “I don’t have it with me, let’s go.” The crew breathed a sigh of relief as everyone laughed heartily at the previous mishap. This time, Aamir had successfully managed to get it right.
Following their conversation, Victor approached him pondering aloud, and inquired as to why his speech seemed reminiscent of Bhuvan from Lagaan. Amir chuckled and disclosed that the director hadn’t noticed he was speaking Bhojpuri. He clarified that he was still immersed in PK and hadn’t fully transitioned out of it yet.
In terms of his professional life, Aamir Khan recently appeared in Laal Singh Chaddha, a movie that didn’t fare well at the cinema, leading him to take some time off. However, this year, he is gearing up for a return with Sitaare Zameen Par, a project that also brings him back together with Darsheel Safary, whom he previously worked with in Taare Zameen Par.
