As a long-time follower of Bollywood, I must say that the dynamic between Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, and Varun Dhawan is one of the most intriguing aspects of the industry today. Their on-screen chemistry is undeniably electric, and it’s fascinating to see their camaraderie unfold in interviews and talk shows like Koffee with Karan.
Alia Bhatt, who first appeared in Karan Johar’s film “Student of the Year” back in 2012, is currently one of the most gifted and thriving actresses in today’s Bollywood scene. She has collaborated with many prominent male actors in the industry, including her spouse, Ranbir Kapoor, as well as Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Shahid Kapoor, and others. At one point, Alia stated that she has a more effective on-screen connection with Varun compared to Ranveer.
Let’s go back for a moment. On Koffee With Karan Season 7, Alia Bhatt sat down with her Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani co-star, Ranveer Singh. In the popular rapid-fire round, the show’s host and director, Karan Johar, posed a question to Alia: She had to pick between Varun Dhawan and Ranveer Singh, who she shares strong chemistry with on screen.
Before Alia had a chance to respond, Ranveer interjected, proposing that she mention his name. Labeling the question as challenging, the actress initially commented on having great chemistry with Ranveer. However, Alia later amended her response by saying, “Varun and I have the most amazing chemistry, which may disappoint fans of ‘Varia’ (the pairing of Varun and Alia).
In a noticeable state of shock, Ranveer initially rose from his seat, considering departing from the show momentarily, but Karan Johar managed to summon him back. The actor from Gully Boy then requested the producers to forward an amended version of that episode. He resumed his position on the couch by expressing his disbelief at the comment about Ranbir Kapoor being a superior dancer compared to him and acknowledging the apparent chemistry between her and Varun.
In simpler terms, Ranveer referred to Alia as bringing shame upon a friend’s name, which essentially means that he felt Alia made a poor decision by choosing her husband over him based on their dancing abilities.
In a recent round of questions, I was asked to highlight one trait that sets my co-star, Ranbir Kapoor, apart from Ranveer Singh. As an actress who’s worked alongside both these talented gentlemen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Brahmastra, I found Ranbir to be remarkably punctual. His ability to dance with effortless grace is also noteworthy, a skill that, from my experience, Ranveer seems to lack in comparison.
