As a lifestyle expert with a deep appreciation for Bollywood cinema, I must say that Tamasha remains one of those timeless films that resonate profoundly with its audience. The chemistry between Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone was undeniably captivating, and their performances were masterfully crafted under the visionary direction of Imtiaz Ali.
The movie “Tamasha,” featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, is often hailed as one of the beloved films in Bollywood. Previously, Anushka Sharma had commented on why she wasn’t cast in Imtiaz Ali’s direction for this film. She acknowledged that working with Imtiaz would have earned her accolades, given his reputation as a skilled director.
Back in 2016, during a chat with ANI, I found myself reminiscing about a pivotal moment in my career – turning down Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha. When asked about any reservations regarding this decision, I was open to share that the reason behind it was the undeniably male-centric narrative. The leading role, portrayed by the talented Ranbir Kapoor, simply received too much attention, leaving little space for a balanced perspective.
Anushka stated that she’s confident she would have received acclaim had she starred in the movie. She explained, “Any actor in an Imtiaz Ali production is bound to give a commendable performance, for he is an outstanding director and adept at working with his actors.
At a recent talk for The Indian Express, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali proposed an altered conclusion for the movie starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Instead of ending up together, his idea was for characters Ved and Tara to admire each other as sources of inspiration, but not be romantically involved.
He admitted that he’d only realized the idea too late, but if that situation had occurred, Tara would have been a regular viewer of his shows without informing him about her attendance. Contrarily, Imtiaz mentioned that they might collaborate on shows according to the movie’s finale.
2015’s movie “Tamasha” tells the tale of Ved Vardhan Sahni, portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor, who harbored a childhood love for storytelling and theatrical performances. While on a lone journey to Corsica, he encounters Tara Maheshwari, played by Deepika Padukone, with whom he forms an emotional bond.
Besides their collaborations in films such as “Bachna Ae Haseeno” and “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”, Ranbir and Deepika have also appeared together on the silver screen.
Presently, Anushka and Deepika are relishing their motherhood roles. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor will soon appear on screen in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana along with Sai Pallavi. Moreover, he is also working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, where he shares the screen with Vicky Kaushal and Alia Bhatt.
