When Farhan Akhtar and Shibani went for couple therapy few days after marriage; 'Our therapist was like...'

As a dedicated follower of celebrity news, I find it truly inspiring to see couples like Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Akhtar setting relationship goals for us mere mortals. Their dedication to maintaining a healthy partnership, even going as far as starting couple therapy during their courtship period, is commendable.

Actress Shibani Akhtar, formerly known as VJ, is currently blissfully wedded to actor-director Farhan Akhtar. Their social media presence consistently inspires others with their loving relationship, which began in 2018 and culminated in marriage in 2022. Interestingly, the newlyweds sought counseling only a day after their wedding ceremony, surprising their therapist. Do you remember that Shibani and Farhan undertook couple therapy shortly after their nuptials?

In a recent conversation on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast, Chapter 2, Shibani Akhtar disclosed that she underwent couple therapy with Farhan Akhtar both prior to and following their wedding.

After their wedding on a Monday, Shibani shared that their next therapy session was scheduled for a Wednesday. As they entered the room, their therapist asked, “What brings you here so soon? Aren’t you newlyweds, just married 24 hours ago?

The actress from “Noor” went on to explain that the pair began undergoing these treatments during their dating phase. She added an analogy, saying that couple therapy is akin to visiting a gym; you need to consistently work at it to see results.

Shibani reminisced about the periods when the pair found themselves at a loss for words during therapy sessions and instead focused on each other. On some occasions, it took them over an hour to delve into their relationship dynamics, she mentioned.

Later on, Shibani Akhtar highlighted that couple therapy significantly improves their ability to handle disagreements. Previously a VJ, she shared that when they argue at home, her inclination is to resolve issues immediately; however, the actor tends to postpone discussions until their therapy session day arrives.

During the same broadcast, Farhan openly discussed the way his daughters, Shakya and Akira, handled his separation from his former spouse, Adhuna Bhabani. He confessed that he carries a heavy sense of guilt regarding their well-being.

In terms of his professional endeavors, Farhan Akhtar has several upcoming projects. One of them is 120 Bahadur where he will portray PVC Major Shaitan Singh. Additionally, he will direct Ranveer Singh in Don 3, marking the third installment of the Don film series that he helms. Furthermore, Farhan is involved in Jee Le Zara, a movie featuring Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif as main characters.
