Radhikka Madan remembers shooting a drunk scene with Irrfan Khan
Radhikka Madan recently opened up in an interview with Filmygyan about her encounter with Irrfan Khan while filming a drunk scene together for “Angrezi Medium.”
Radhikka revealed that Homi Adajania instructed her to intensify her emotional portrayal when playing a drunk character. At first, however, Irrfan wasn’t fully convinced by Radhikka‘s performance as a drunk actress in Sarfira.
During the preparation for her scene, the Angrezi Medium actress shared, “My director insisted we take things up a notch, you and I had been practicing being drunk. However, when Irrfan sir arrived on set, he quipped, ‘it’s all a lie, I will expose it.'”
Radhikka recalls she later made Irrfan confused
In the same interview, Radhikka Madan shared stories about getting ready for the scene to ensure her acting appeared authentic to the late Irrfan Khan. She revealed that she managed to achieve a state of “drunkenness” so convincing that Irrfan became unsure if Radhikka was actually intoxicated or not.
“We reached a place where he was like ‘I am not sure’ and that’s what we rolled,” she added.
When Radhikka Madan ‘regretted’ not talking enough to Irrfan on the sets
Recently, Radhikka Madan expressed regret in an interview for not having spent more time with Irrfan Khan while filming “Angrezi Medium” together.
Radhikka shared that she was deeply engrossed in her character and viewed Irrfan as her on-screen father. She had hoped to have lengthy conversations with him about films, acting, and artistry once the shoot was over. However, she realized he was dealing with a great deal of personal turmoil instead.
Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29, 2020, following a diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumor.
At present, Radhikka Madan appeared in the movie “Sarfira,” where she took on the part of Akshay Kumar’s on-screen spouse.
