When Salman Khan admitted giving large part of his income to charity; 'Main sirf 10% ko hi haath lagata hoon'

As someone who has always admired the glitz and glamour of Bollywood, I have to say that my respect for Salman Khan goes beyond his stardom. His humanitarian efforts and selfless acts truly set him apart from his peers.

Salman Khan, preparing for his upcoming movie Sikandar, is more than just a famous actor; he’s also deeply committed to humanitarian causes. Recognized for his generosity towards both colleagues in the film industry and ordinary people, Salman Khan from Tiger 3 fame was India’s first bone marrow donor. In the past, this Bollywood star openly shared details about his finances, revealing that he retains only 10% of his earnings while donating a significant portion to charity.

In an interview with Aap Ki Adalat, I, a fervent admirer, found myself captivated by Salman Khan’s response when he was asked about the claim that he donates 90% of his earnings to charity. He clarified that, indeed, there is some truth to this rumor, but not quite in its entirety. In essence, I understood that he does generously contribute a significant portion of his income towards charitable causes.

Salman stated, “Indeed, I handle just 10% of my income. A substantial amount of what’s left over is donated to charity, not that 90% goes there.”

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share some insights from my beloved idol, Salman Khan, about his life beyond the silver screen. Contrary to popular belief, he clarified that his wealth is not as vast as people might think. Instead, he revealed a side of him that is deeply committed to helping those in need, especially heart and cancer patients who reach out to his foundation. His father, the esteemed screenwriter Salim Khan, often signs the checks for their treatments, he shared. Amidst all this, Salman candidly admitted that he shoulders significant expenses, which is why he continues to work tirelessly.

For those unfamiliar, Salman Khan is known as India’s first volunteer bone marrow donor. In 2010, he generously donated his bone marrow to a young girl named Pooja, who relied on the transplant for her survival. Previously, actor Suniel Shetty expressed admiration for Salman’s selfless act in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, calling him “God’s beloved child.” He praised Salman as someone who yearns for societal change and thus is blessed by God.

The upcoming film titled “Sikandar,” starring Salman Khan, is scheduled for release on the festive occasion of Eid in 2025. This movie, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, will also feature Rashmika Mandanna and Suniel Shetty alongside Salman.
