In a recent post, Shahid shared that when he married 21-year-old Mira at the age of 34, he initially felt responsible for shielding her from the potentially negative influences of movies and glamour. However, he soon discovered that she was strong and self-reliant instead.

During a heartfelt conversation on The Faye D’Souza Show, Shahid Kapoor shared valuable experiences from the beginning of his marriage with Mira Rajput in 2015, when she was only 21 years old. Having met only a few times before their wedding, their age difference led to a sense of guardianship within the actor towards his new spouse. As a result, he felt it was essential to shield her from the unsavory aspects of the movie and glamour world.

Upon our marriage, I believed it was my duty to shield her since she was a 20-year-old woman from Delhi stepping into the harsh, glamorous world of films.

However, he praised his wife for her robust upbringing, resilience in handling difficulties, and exceptional intellect. Kapoor stated she was more equipped to handle such matters than he had previously believed. He also pointed out, “Her stubbornness is a valuable trait since it helps one protect oneself,” implying that she can manage the complexities of show business on her own.

In the past 8 years following their marriage and immersion in the movie industry, Deepika Padukone (the actress from Kabir Singh) has developed a more socially confident persona compared to Ranveer Singh (her husband). He observed, “She is more of a social butterfly than I am. She felt at ease in parties that I had been attending for years long before I did.

He appreciated the advancement and skill of his spouse throughout the years, finding himself increasingly reliant on her as a source of comfort.

In terms of his professional life, Shahid was recently featured in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which hit theaters on February 9, 2024. Currently, he’s gearing up for the launch of his upcoming movie, Deva, directed by Rosshan Andrrews. His role in this film is a cop, sharing screen time with Pooja Hegde. The release date for Deva is scheduled for February 2025.
